Location wise it's great. Just a short walk to the centre and just around the corner from the theatre. ||Check in was easy. You get a key to the front of the hotel and a room key. There is no curfew. ||The room itself was average. …

Stayed here for the night on 24th September. This hotel looked like a good place to stay when I looked online - in a great location, parking was easy on-street, and it is near to central Edinburgh, so handy for bars and food. …

Room and bathroom was very clean and tidy there was no dust, dirt or hair anywhere. The bed room we had, there was very little room to move around in and the bathroom wasn't exactly the biggest either but for two peole it's ideal. Staff are very friendly and willing to help out in anyway possible and offered to book us a taxi when checking out. It is also less that five minute walk from the play house (literally round the corner) so I would highly recommend and I will definitely be back

Really good position, really close to the bus and a few minutes walk from the airport tram stop; it is also near the Calton hill from which you have a wonderful view of the city and the sea. The shower was not really clean, the soap is not enough (you'll need to ask) and even if the hairdryer is a real hair dryer, you have to ask for it, so you have to be lucky to find the receptionist (which is almost impossible at a certain time). Breakfast is good, with tasty bacon, eggs, beans, and so on, just prepared for you. I could return here to visit Edinburgh, though it's not the best hotel which I stayed in.

An elegant Georgian townhouse set in a pleasant street in Edinburgh five minutes walk from the Playhouse and 15 minutes walk from the city centre. Sounds great. …

Stay clear. The negative:- They had not cleaned the room in-between stays, we found leftover snacks from the previous tenants.- The linens were dirty. Bloodstained.- One window would not open, the other would not close. They were screwed in place.- Extension cords were plugged in extension cords. A proper fire hazard.- The curtains would not close, nor would the blinds. No privacy.- There were mold in the bathroom.- The water was either freezing cold, or boiling hot.- The toilet did not properly work.- No room service or cleaning.- The breakfast was white bread with cheese.- The staff was friendly, but apathetic. Like they would rather be elsewhere. The positive :- The hotel is situated relatively central. Close to Arthur's seat.- The hotel is in Edinburgh. Edinburgh is a lovely city.

Firstly the location was fantastic for the hotel. Situated right next to Calton Hill and a 5 min walk to the new town, 15 mins to the old town. Ideal for people exploring the city. …

Hotel leaves a lot to be desired. Needs a lot of upkeep and renovation. The only good point is the position. Some staff actually abused us verbally on the last day because we commented that breakfast was over 30 minutes late and threatened to cancel the breakfast completely. I gave 1 star since the other staff members were nice and kind.
