A real little gem in the heart of Edinburgh. Room only (but who wants those awful chain hotel breakfasts), beautifully clean rooms, soft thick bedding, extra little touches giving you a lovely welcome. Susan and Chris really want you to feel relaxed as you explore the local sites. This place has recently opened having been lovingly redecorated and looks pristine but not clinical. Would strongly recommend.

Stayed here a couple of nights during the Fringe. Brilliant communications from the manager from the start. Set in a quiet but historic square the Townhouse has been beautifully refurbished this year. …

If you are traveling by yourself, and have no luggage or special needs, this newly renovated location is perfect. If you’re in a third-floor room, be prepared to go up three flights of steps as there is no elevator. There is literally 18 inches on each side of the bed for you to walk around. There is no closet and if you’re over 6 feet tall you will not fit in the shower. Again nicely renovated and a perfect location, but the description of this townhouse is deceiving. We traveled as a couple and ended up leaving after one night because we were living like sardines. The Pictures we have included are of the staircase, where we hung our clothes, and how we had to arrange our suitcases.

The bad: For a family the layout and amenities weren't the greatest. There's a very steep set of carpeted stairs and there's not a door or any kind of preventative device to keep small kids away from stairs. There was no microwave or refrigerator for families trying to save on meals. The living room area/ kids pullout bed room has an extremely bright LED exit sign that cannot be turned off and kept the kids awake. Under the exit sign there was an unshaded window that lacks privacy and keeps the already bright room (thanks to the exit sign) even brighter until sunset, which in summer is something like 10:45pm or 2245.The good:Clean. Smartly decorated. Tesco express right around the corner. A GREAT CENTRALIZED LOCATION, makes navigating by walking easy.
