Was a very good hotel. The rooms were large and accommodating. The food choices were great for dietary needs especially and the service was lovely. It is a bit out of the city centre, however there is a bus stop out the front and was very easy to find our way into town. The benefit of being out of town, was the ease in parking a rented vehicle.

After paying over $100 a day for the smallest one person room, I am obligated to say this hotel is a rip-off.The room itself is in need of a serious upgrade. The carpets are dingy, and the hallways could use a fresh coat of paint. The caulking in the bathroom has mold on it. The heater doesn't allow you to change the temperature any warmer showing it as locked. The highest temp, 68 during the day and a cool 62 at night. I was trying to get over a cold, and this made it horrible. The walls are so thin that I could hear drunk men yelling in the hallway at 1 am. Or my favorite, the last night I had to put a pillow over my head to quiet the sound of someone snoring in another room all night. The maid service made it seem like an inconvenience to service my room each day. By the 3rd day, they left paperwork on my bed about being "eco-friendly" and not having maid service. It was a bit too passive-aggressive.

This hotel was excellent. The rooms were spacious, exceptionally clean and well looked after. The staff was super helpful and friendly too. Upon arriving to our room, we found out that our TV wasn't working but the staff was very courteous and helpful and offered to fix it right there and then but since we were going to be out the whole day the next day we opted to get it fixed the next day. The hotel is a bit far from the city centre but there is a bus stop right in front of it so that's not a problem and the hotel is very easily accessible. The only complaint I have about our room was that all the taps seemed to only have boiling hot water even if the knob was turned all the way to the right though that might've just been an issue with our room. Overall this is an excellent hotel to stay at if visiting Edinburgh!

In common with other recent reviews I spent three nights at this hotel recently. It is probably one of the worst hotels that I have ever stayed in. …

A nice hotel, in a nice locationThe room was spacious but the bed, was like sleeping on a brick and the pillows even worse. The staff were lovely. We had an evening meal, that was nice but the breakfast, which I always look forward to was very disappointing. The sausages were anaemic and everything was cold. Only went down the first morning, then never bothered after that and for the price, disgusting. Too far from the main centre for us. Wouldn't stay again.

We had two rooms for several days earlier this summer. It looked like several wings of the hotel had been refurbished... however our rooms were not. Both rooms were in need of serious updates - carpets, repainting, fixing the excessive squeezing floors. Also retraining the maid service to provide clean, sanitized glasses rather than recycling dirty ones. The carpets were dingy and stained, and should have been replaced years ago - however they were clean. And we will not forget the horribly squeeky floors! Based on rooms alone in the wing we stayed, this is a 1.5 star experience. The front desk folks were, however, extremely helpful. We decided to eat in the bar on two of the evenings. Same menu as the restaurant. Very good food, excellent service, really friendly folks. A 4-star experience.Would we stay here again? It would be a definite if there were updates on the rooms. If no updates, then we would stay elsewhere.

Very neat and clean property with well appointed rooms. There was plenty of tea/coffee that was replenished everyday without having to request for the same. The staff was very helpful and courteous. Days when we had an early start and were going to miss the breakfast; we were given little goodie bags with muffins, fruit, yogurt, juice, cookies etc to carry and have on the go (lovely gesture and so thoughtful). The breakfast otherwise was brilliant as well. The location is a huge advantage with the bus stop right outside the property. Within minutes you are in the city centre. Couldn't have asked for a better stay. This is definitely my preferred property to stay in Edinburgh.

Good location for Edinburgh as 15mins by train and station around the cornerThe hotel is nice but bit lacking in life. Reception staff bit stiff and offered no information on there services or the areaThe swimming pool is not accessible for children after 7pm which is hugely disappointing when paying to stay because they have a pool
