I stayed here for 3 nights in “small single” room 9. I was a bit apprehensive after reading the reviews but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. It was not cheap but the price of hotels in central Edinburgh is extremely high.  …

We stayed here for three nights over a weekend in room 26. It was spacious and comfy, nicely decorated, could do with some more things like toilet roll as they only supplied one and didn't have anyone coming to the room during the day to …

This was the worst hospitality experience in the the last 20 years of traveling. The Hotel cancelled my family's reservation shortly before arrival, during Edinburgh Festival Season. Giving us no suitable alternative rooms and refusing to rebook us to another hotel in the city, left us stranded, having to book another hotel last minute during festival season, costing a fortune. Then it took weeks to get my money back. If you have the option to stay literally anywhere else in the city, do it. I do not recommend.

Spend some nights in the Altido Hotel, which admittedly is very well located near the Haymarket. In principle, the Hotel operates with a smart idea in mind, which is that all doors are opened electronically via the browser. The problem is in case you do not have great connection, which leads to being locked out. In my case, sometimes the WiFi was not working in the basement (where the room was located), which was annoying. Now concerning the biggest issues with the room:- big patches of mold in the shower, probably due to the ventilation not working properly. E.g. you showered in the evening and the shower was still wet in the morning.- water/ waste water pipes running directly adjacent to your room: constant "water running" noises, which are though on your good night sleep.- in case you get room 14: be prepared for the boiler (?) to start randomly booming next to your room which is unfortunately *very* loud! I am not sure whether that room should be rented out at all due to the constant noise level.- since there is no service at all, except for the free coffee/tea (nespresso machine), you have to be fine with using the same towel all the time.- positive points: the common rooms were very nice, you could store food, etc. in the fridge. Also there was a box of pralines waiting in your room for you.All in all: maybe with a different room, the stay would be much more positive. In case you do not care about getting sleep and like the central location: go for it.

I arrived at the hotel in the evening on my check-in day and there was no employee at the hotel. The doors opened automatically, but the lock of the room given to me was broken. I stayed at the door at night. I called the authorities and we tested with my luggage at the door for half an hour. Finally, I was able to enter my room by entering the manager password. I used the relevant password throughout the entire stay. On my check out day, it wasn't my check out time yet and I left the luggage in the room and went out of the room in the morning. The alarm on the room's door started ringing incessantly and the door was locked. I was supposed to be at the airport in a few hours and there was not even one official at the hotel. I asked for help on the phone, but they told me that they could not give information about when the technical service would arrive. They not only ruined my last hours in the city by making me wait in front of the door, but also made me very worried about the risk of missing the plane. I sat and waited in the hotel for an hour. They finally solved it but it was an absolute nightmare. I left very unhappy.

Just awful. Do not stay here. My room had this terrible noise that went on all night. I complained and was told “no one else has complained” and given earplugs. The floor tiles in the bathroom were broken and I nearly cut my foot. Claims to be a 4* hotel. It’s barely a 2*.

Great room. Massive. Could have fitted a king bed. Had smart tv a fridge with crockery.A little en-suite.The drainage was bad in our room and the shower hose was broken, so the whole bathroom would get wet. Had to spit when bushing my teeth in the toilet as the water wouldn’t go down the drain. We did call for someone to come sort it but they didn’t come.Because of the location it can be noisy but they did warn us about that before booking and they supplied ear buds. Which I found very useful.Loved people watching through the window.Had a nice social space with hot drinks, fruit a board games which is nice.Very good area to get to lots of places, plenty places you can eat walking distance and public transport is very accessible.

Stay away.|Self service, only one of us had access code to open doors. No personell means no one did any service during the four night. No luggage storage, one would save money by staying in a better hotel. …

Work booked here for a week I edinburgh. Room is huge and has a private ensuite bathroom. Fridge, kettle etc. Can't fault location at all, just opposite haymaket station. But work never forwarded link to fill out to get door pins for front and bedroom. Had to phone number on door and get them to send on to myself. Not their fault but if they had a hub in Edinburgh to speak to someone between 3-6pm would probably e better. No idea of the cost as work did that but I reckon for may it's very good value. Perfect for those who want to be out and about but have a bit of comfort at the end of the day. Just don't let your mobile runout or you will be keyless .
