This superb hotel is in a prime location across Princess St. from the train station and very close to the main bus station. It is very modern and our room was spacious and very comfortable. …

This review is based on the high price and the high expectations that price created. To be honest the best thing about this property was the location. Although the foyer had a cool aesthetic, it was worn out and not all that clean. …

First time staying here at Edinburgh. The location is great, rooms are clean, the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Security based downstairs near the entrance of an evening. Reception is located on the first floor. The only thing to note is that the room got quite warm throughout the night, even with window open and heating turned off.

Having been to the Motel One in Vienna, we had a sense of what this brand offers. And we weren’t disappointed in the slightest. …

As mentioned in other reviews, the primary benefit of this hotel is the location. It really can't be beat for the price. Hotel is well maintained, but rooms are definitely on the smaller side. Our only complaint was that while we never felt unsafe, the lobby/reception is not on the ground level, so you could just walk into the hotel off of the street, go straight into the elevators and go up to the rooms without interacting with anyone. There is basically no security (keycard or employee) to stop someone from getting from the street to the hallways with the guest rooms during the day. This felt like a safety concern to us, considering the hotel is in such a busy area. There is also no safe in the hotel room. Otherwise room was clean and staff was very friendly.

It's OK. It's a hotel. It's basic, too warm inside, but really convenient for both the station and the trams. In fact, nit takes longer waiting for the lights to change to cross Princes Street than it does to walk from the station to the hotel!! The staff are friendly and helpful though. Clean and tidy, but don't expect stunning views of the city.

The Motel One Princess is perfectly located across the train station in Edinburgh and right near all the shopping. Across the bridge over the tracks is also a little of great shops and and historical places to visit. The rooms are quite small, which I think is on par with the UK. The room prices were really steep compared to what we paid in England.I was hoping for a little more to the room to make up for that. But there were paper cups in the bathroom and no A/C. I couldn't keep the room cooled down enough to sleep under the covers. My window looked into a wall within reaching distance, which meant I couldn't get much of a breeze with an open window. With that being said, service was still great, front desk staff were nice and helpful. And I truly think the hotel sits in a perfect location.

A very nice hotel in the center part of Edinburgh. The staff was helpful and respectful. We only had the issue that the bathroom sink was a little smelly. Other than that we were very happy :)
