Quirky, cool, comfortable hotel on a great location. Within walking distance to most major attractions, just around the corner from the museum.  …

The room was great; large bathroom, a nice comfortable sitting area, good bed. HVAC fan could have been a bit more powerful but auxiliary oscillating fan sufficient. Kitchen service was slow but food quality was very good. …

Great drinks, atmosphere, a quiet lovely bar not far from both the school and golf course. Dark atmosphere, light music, great looking patio space though it was too cold to sit out there the day we visited, but great staff and indoor options. ||Go for the Prixe Fixe menu from 5-7pm for a real deal on some great food

We booked the Hotel du Vin for a city break in Edinburgh and had a lovely stay. The hotel is in a good location near the Old Town and a short walk from bars, restaurants and shops. …

This hotel is ok. My main issue is their cleaning schedule. I get the people checking out are priority to clean the rooms but, the time you clean everyone else is problematic. If I have been out most of the day and want to come back and relax/freshen up before dinner, the room won’t have been cleaned. Of the 5 days I (should have) got my room cleaned while I was out, it only happened ONCE. I even asked as I left for the day if they could clean it in the next couple of hours. It only worked once. For cost of this place that is unacceptable. The room itself is nice but it doesn’t really cool, the bathroom floor heating is random. They had to get maintenance to fix the towel rack/warmer. It did work after they fixed it.The staff were nice when I interacted with them. The location is pretty good.

On the site of an old asylum, (no. We found no evidence of ghosts!) this hotel is awesome. The historic building has a million little details, so you can always find something new when you look. The restaurant is outstanding with delicious food and excellent service. The desk personnel are very friendly and helpful. The only quirk in the stay was that the floors in our room on the third floor were very creaky in spots. Since the building was erected in 1743, we took this in stride. My apologies to anyone who may have stayed under us on the second floor. (We heard no complaints about it during our stay)

Stylish and comfortable, it was too luxurious for me to stay in Edinburgh on my own, leaving my daughter in London.I had dinner on arrival and breakfast the next day, walked most of the sights from Carlton Hill to Edinburgh Castle, collected my luggage to catch the train to my next destination, Fort William, and had a late lunch in this restaurant. The French soup and rib-eye steak dinner was very good, but a little too salty for me. Breakfast at the Egg Royal was delicious. The lunch chicken cutlets in particular were fried to perfection.Seasonal fees were high, however I found them worthwhile.

Stunning cozy well dressed hotel! Very tailored and sophisticated in it's presentation. I loved it! The breakfast was very good. Eggs Benedict my fave! It indeed truly felt like Scotland. There happened to be an event there in the hotel it might have been a wedding but I wasn't really sure but there were lots and lots of young teenagers pre-teens dressed up formally and it was delightful to see young girls dressed up in their dresses and the young boys wearing kilts they look so distinguished and so proud of themselves you could tell that they loved their Scottish heritage I felt honoured to be able to see that.

We just stayed at this location with a few friends and honestly, I'm not sure it was worth the money. The hotel was nice enough, but really you seem to be paying for ease of access to local attractions. The organization of the hotel is gimmicky and confusing, but nothing really stood out as amazing and after reflecting about our trip, the hotel just seems too expensive. Our "view" from our balcony was a wall and the air conditioning would not keep up. We were able to stay mostly comfortable with a fan that we found in the closet, but it did make the lights flicker. I will say that it was a pretty quiet location and the staff was quite nice. The food and drink weren't interesting at all

The service overall was understaffed and lacked co-ordination. In the Bistro restaurant the real star was Helen who handled a roomful of tables with grace and an understanding of customer service.  …
