A lovely hotel which was handy for visiting the Kelpies & Falkirk Wheel. Friendly, polite reception team. In fact all staff were lovely. The room was comfortable, a good size, clean & tidy. …

The hotel is easy to find, located in a friendly community, with food served all day. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I stayed in room 13 which was quiet and comfortable. …

It wasn't great. Yes the hotel staff on check in were nice enough, however it wouldn't have gone amiss to have had an email or phone call prior to arrival about a wedding the had on this night?! …

Booked an accessible room as a wheelchair/mobility scooter user and adviced them of this upon booking some 2 months prior.I was given room n1 on the ground floor the door of which is right next to the door to the reception meaning it was very tricky manoeuvring on a tight corner while dealing with two doors at the same time. The room was spacious, but the mattress was really hard, so I didn't have a great night and woke up with a sore back. The bathroom was spacious however the toilet only had one grab rail. The shower/wet room lacked a seat so as it was evening and ready to take a shower before bed I called reception asking for one and they said they would bring me one. Gone 45min no sight of anyone called them again to be told it was on its way. Called a third time 15 minutes later and finally, they said it was ready to be collected.Having to chase 3 times for 1 hour was poor customer service.I also went to the restaurant and the menu was a mix of many different cuisines, sadly as the old saying goes ‘Jack of all trades, master of none’ the food was bland, very bad I stress very poor quality and expensive for what it was. After reading other reviews after my visit, I noticed that their food was awful. Last but not least, upon entering the restaurant, the first table on the left was empty and looked like a war zone with paper strewn across the floor, we had to walk around it. The restaurant was not busy and as that is the first thing a guest sees upon entering the restaurant I feel it should have been cleaned promptly. If I travelled in the area again I wouldn’t book again.

The hotel is lovely and the staff very efficientMy husband has difficulty climbing and walking so 1st floor. No lift not very good. To be fair I did not mention when booking but assumed there would be a lift.Breakfast??? Should have stuck to a continental. We could have played tennis with bacon, haggis etc.Room was very very cold. When mentioned in the morning chap went and turned it on but we were leaving within the hour.

Booked direct by telephone to stay here and received friendly response and a competitive rate. Chose the location to meet some friends. The hotel has a large car park and on arrival, the reception was a little "systematic". …

Booked for lunch six of us. Soup was adequate I had the soup and sandwich combo and the bread was not very fresh. My husband had the curry and it was dry and burnt. Service was quite slow. Prices rather on the high side. Wine 8.00 a glass - we are not in Edinburgh. Hotel is clean and staff friendly but good needs to be better.

Don’t stay if they have a wedding on, the noise! and service is shocking. There was no warning other than being greated by it on arrival. Advice don’t stay over the weekends, it should not be open to other paying guests. …
