Stayed here for 3 nights around October half term.Did not arrive by car so parking was not an issue though only one parking spot available.About 10 min on a number of buses or around 25 min on foot which is not too bad and a good exercise. No check in desk but lady came to give us a set of keys when we rang the bell which was smooth and easy.Room 6 is not en-suite, but we had access to our own private bathroom one door down. Just make sure you bring a bathrobe or pjs with you:). Might have been a problem to get up in the middle of the night but after all day full of attractions we slept right through.Heating in the room was controllable and very welcome in cold October nights. Quite quiet too except traffic noise which is expected in the city.Pillows are not too comfy but really a minor issue. All in all a decent and affordable stay over what seems quite expensive weekend in half term.

Location was good due to its proximity to the train station. There is no in-person reception here. Had to ring the Ring doorbell twice to get someone. Room was decent enough. Couldn’t control temperature though…so it was pretty hot in the evening. Site says parking…what they mean is street parking! Thankfully we were able to get a spot not too far off from site. There are only two fairly flat pillows.Place is decent to stay overnight if without a car. Close to the city centre and public transit in abundance.

The instructions weren’t completely clear for check in and key drop off, though the room felt clean and safe enough. The manager was really helpful for not being on-site. The shower is a death-trap with no instructions on how to use the tap… (to be fair, most of the bath/shower contraptions were unique and sometimes temperamental) and the glass door opens inwards so I couldn’t get out of the way of the scalding water.

I would advise everyone not to stay at this hotel. It is a building site, the noise, dust and the danger of debris is bad. We were unable to stay at this hotel due to the health and safety aspects plus no parking, as advertised.  …

The pictures in the advertisement are fake! The bathrooms are 50 years old at least. The loo will not flush. Had to call for help. The shower is the size of a coffin with no light. And the shower head is 6 inches from the wall, with mold in the corners. There is no garden. The front is full of garbage cans and laundry.

Too many disappointing misses to be a winner. Just to be clear the owner seemed and apologetic, but cancellation or discount were never going to be an easy win.1) key safe didn't work, we had to wait for owners to arrive to resolve the key situation, 20mins faff. 2) Hot water failed on the first morning. After some testing the owner ushered us over to another guest house to shower and the boiler problem was resolved by the afternoon. 3) the bed was too short for 6'2". Some of it was lost to the headboard but my ankles over hung the end of the bed. 4) The need linen was nice and comfy, bed not bad, but the pillows were not great, too thin and lumpy. 5) the shower \ Toilet was very cramped and reminded me of my cheap flat I lived in 25years ago. 6) TV and remove were naff. That said the place was clean, presented ok at a glance but id consider spending a bit more and get the creature comfort improved on.

I cancelled our stay here before our trip, and they charged me anyway. Even with the booking.com proof of free cancellation, they refused to return the money. …

I booked a room early in the year and became concerned closer to our trip when they were no longer listed as taking bookings on the booking platform and started reading reviews, which most weren't good.Checkin is via a Ring doorbell and can be difficult to hear over street noise. We were able to find a street park (I would advise to check street parking guidelines before you arrive). Our room (number 2) although a little dated was clean and tidy, just what we needed when exploring a new city. The shower can be very hot (there is a sign to say so) but with persistence my husband found the tight temperature. The shower controls are like a dial and it was a little stiff, as Aussies we aren't used to these water controls.Public transport is close by.In all would stay again after having been there.
