The service was absolutely excellent! The waiters here really take care. That being said I would recommend against getting the lamb. The waitress had warned us it would be pink but truly it came out raw. Even the pastry crust wasn't cooked completely. We did have to send it back and have it cooked further but still came back pretty under. That being said the oysters were amazing and the cocktails fantastic.

We were excited to dine at this historic restaurant at the foot of the Castle and overall, it did not disappoint. The room was beautiful, and overall, the food was delicious. However, our service was a bit off. At first we felt a bit rushed to get our entire order in, and then it became hard to get the attention of a server to order desert and later to get our check as the staff seem more concerned in resetting tables for the next parties. We also had an issue with one of our desert menus being out of date causing some confusion and issues with our order. I would have expected better from a more fine dining style restaurant where the bill was over £100 a person.

Stayed 2 nights in the Turret Suite. The room was beautiful, steeped in history with gorgeous decor and period furniture, a lovely ornate deep bath and separate double shower room. We had breakfast both mornings with a good choice of freshly cooked options and one dinner which was excellent. Both dining rooms were steeped in history, decor and atmosphere. We found the staff friendly and efficient. Highly recommend for a very special experience.

The Garden at The Witchery was so cool! The food was fantastic, the whisky selection was remarkable and the environment was stunning! We had such a good time just soaking in all of the surroundings. No one was rushing us to finish, the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. We will make an attempt to return on our next trip to Edinburgh!

We had a table for two at «the original dining room». Fantastic atmosphere with stunning wall & roof art, and very charming and service minded staff. The food and wine was all in the top part of the scale. …

My husband and I went on our first trip to Scotland and had our 3 year anniversary dinner here. This is fine dining and you do need to book. Our waiter was Mackenzie and he was a gem. As you can expect from fine dining the menu focuses on flavours and creativity. I had a haggis with mango chutney for starters and my husband had crab benedict and we shared the lamb wellington which was absolutely wonderful. They have a huge wine selection and they have their own scotch which my husband loves. Beautiful restaurant and while the food is expensive it is so worth it for those special occasions.

The Witchery is decadent and classy and I don’t believe you will find anything like it. |The decor is beautiful and the dining rooms are moody and dark, lit only by candlelight which creates a wonderfully romantic atmosphere. …

Went to the restaurant for lunch after exploring the city. Amazing location and stunning decor! Wait staff is super helpful and willing to make recommendations. Drinks were a close second to the food! Would recommend both!

Service and attention to detail was top notch. My girlfriend is vegetarian and has specific allergies, they really made us feel welcome around that instead of feeling like a bother. Rooms and decor has to be seen to be believed, pictures online don't capture the majesty of being there! AND THE BATHTUBS! Worth the effort for that alone. The food and wine was top notch, I wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend if you want to let Edinburgh spoil you on your visit

We had an unforgettable stay in the witchery. I loved our Sempill suite, everything was just perfect. The hotel gives spooky vibes, but it’s very cozy as well. The cherry on the top was the dinner in the restaurant, both food and service were amazing.
