Had 3 nights at this hotel. Everything was seemless and easy. The check-in was great, the room was clean and tidy (214) and the breakfast was all you need, hot or cold. The transport links into Edinburgh were a plenty but to be honest it's really only a 15min walk to the Castle. Great friendly staff. Would definitely recommend!!

We visited on a Saturday evening and we were very disappointed . In the past we have always stayed at Premier inn , courtyard by Marriott or Radisson blu . …

We had a wonderful weekend staying here in Edinburgh, the staff was friendly and our room was cozy and clean. The hotel is in a perfect spot near Haymarket station and the tram, so we were able to explore the whole city with ease. The breakfast buffet was simple and delicious, a great start to each day of our stay!

We were not impressed with this Marriott property. The staff at the front desk and throughout just aren’t friendly, we both didn’t feel welcome in our three nights staying here. Their words were not genuinely kind, it felt very unsettling. The room was small with no air conditioning and one of the three windows would not open. It got hot during the day. The bed was very lumpy and old, as were the pillows. The tiles in the bathroom were cracked and stained. Very old feel. The paid breakfast was mediocre and not sanitary. The coffee was in a coffee pot for you to pour yourself so be careful not to spill it on your hand. If you wanted a latte or cappuccino they wanted to charge you extra, just drip coffee included they said. They had cereal boxes but also grains and raisins left out in the open to easily be sneezed on or contaminated by other means. It was the same breakfast every single day for three days, no changes. When it was time to check out, the manager was knocking on our door two minutes after the said checkout time asking us if we would like to pay for another night—how rude.I strongly suggest not staying at this property, Marriott should be ashamed for offering this terrible property to their clientele.

Lovely staff, Rene especially was very helpful and makes a delicious cocktail. ||Very attentive service from the bar staff generally who were happy to help. ||Good pizza and a great Sunday lunch in the restaurant. ||The rooms are clean and look newly refurbished with very little noise from the street.

This hotel has its ups and downs. I visited in the summertime and it was stuffy in my room despite having the window open. The breakfast was modest but could of had more to it. When I first got my room, the main lock was broken and I had to use a chair the entire time I was there to keep the door locked in someway (I just didn't switch rooms in case the room was worse now in someway). This hotel gave you great places to walk around to stores and shops nearby so it was the ideal spot to be and the hotel staff was very helpful when I lost my hotel key card so this place isn't too bad.

Small room but it was mostly comfortable.|We stayed in the Queen room (22sqm) apparently you can get a smaller room. We found that we had to constantly shuffle bags around to move around the room. …

Certainly not the best Marriott property I've stayed at, but not the worst either.Easy access to public transit - bus stop directly outside of hotel, and Haymarket tram stop is about 5 min walk.Local restaurants and a tesco express right next door.

Room was simple and nice. Very close to city center and lots of restaurants close by. The temp control in the room was through another company which did not work all the time. The tub wall in the bath room was too tall, may be a a problem for elderly or anyone with issues with knees or legs.
