This is our second time at this hotel in autumn. The hotel is nice and clean. However we’ve found it do be a bit cold and chilly throughout. The rooms are comfortable although a bit dated and could do with a freshen up. The food was really nice, I found the bar service at times a little slow, this is due to staff numbers and not a reflection on the quality of staff. The spa facilities are good , but this visit I was a little bit disappointed with the full body massage not being full body. The reception staff were amazing, very accommodating and extremely helpful. A credit to the hotel.

I visited the spa and my treatment was 10/10! My therapist made me feel so comfortable right away and she was very informative about the products and the massage was excellent. The Leisure facilities are lovely, the sauna and steam rooms were great. Easy drive to get there. I would definitely recommend and will book again.

The hotel a bit dated, of its time but very clean and had the basics. no fridge in room and no jacuzzi in spa but on the whole it was a fantastic trip. The service was excellent. All the staff were really helpful & friendly. Most of the food was great. Afternoon tea was delicious. The spa was good & treatments were really good. I definitely would recommend it.

Spa day was good. Staff were very helpful. Afternoon tea was amazing as we're both treatments we had. What I would say is, the place was very very busy and not really relaxing at all. Someone doing manic front crawl down the pool, causing waves like the North Sea. There were no staff members in pool area at all which is unusual. Ripped loungers which could have been removed to make the place look nicer. Couldn't fault the heated loungers or steam room. All in all, I would go back. Nice to get robes, slippers and towels. Spa day would be better with less people making it actually relaxing and not crowded. My daughter didn't want to use the pool etc due to the busyness of the place.

Could not be more disappointed with our stay. First night away without kids and this hotel was just a disappointment. We stayed when attending a wedding. The "preferential rate" is just the full price. We got a really small room that was set up for single occupancy. Granted other people in the wedding got great big rooms but if you get room 220 I highly recommend you try moving.Breakfast isn't good, it took forever and we didn't get any tea or coffee. All in all a really disappointing stay. We've stayed in Macdonald hotels before in various locations but not sure I'd be picking one in the future.

Only used the spa. Was first time visiting and first time getting a massage and facial. My masseuse made me feel right at home and very comfortable as I was a bit nervous. It was amazing. The relaxation room was lovely afterwards too. The pool and saunas were very good. The experience shower was essentially a cold shower with a light. My only gripe is that there is 1 changing room so there was a bit of time wasted waiting on that becoming free. Overall though, it was a really lovely day and it's hidden away very well. Will definitely be back again.
