A real treasure to find. A beautiful location at the marina by the canal. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. The double room with en suite was large, comfortable, clean and homely, very quiet with a lovely view over the marina. Loved the nautical theme right down to the wallpaper! :) Dinner and breakfast were excellent.. we had the steak frites for dinner, which was the smaller steak portion on the menu and just enough for us after a long day travelling, and the breakfast was the best that we’ve had in a hotel for a long time. Prices were reasonable and the restaurant was relaxing with views of the marina. We would definitely stay again!

Stayed here for 4 nights for work. Rooms were a little tired but comfortable and for the price absolutely no complaints. Location is fantastic. Service was excellent, made to feel welcome. Great walks by the canal to get the great food off. Would definitely recommend to stay here. I will again anyway, don't really worry what you think lol

We stopped here for dinner and pudding during our walk along the Forth and Clyde Canal. We were impressed by most of the food. The nachos were possibly the best I've ever had, made with real cheese and freshly made guacamole. I suspect even their soured cream was homemade. My wife had the steak and was very pleased. The chips that came with it were good too. The skewered vegetables, while nothing was wrong with them, didn't feel special either. The caramel sundae was superb, with good Orkney ice cream, freshly whipped cream, and excellent caramel sauce. The New York cheesecake was likewise very well made. HAdd to this the vary pleasant setting overlooking the small marina, and this place is definitely a winner. We will be back.

Stopped off at the Boathouse on our 10 day Road trip around Scotland, this is a lovely find in a beautiful location overlooking the canal marina, close to the Kelpies, Falkirk Wheel and Stirling Castle, the rooms are a little tired, but I believe it's under new ownership recently everything takes time, so I'm sure these will be freshened as they go. Staff Friendly and Breakfast on both days no complaints. All the best for the future in the new business.

It's a great restaurant, with nice staff and lovely food. Our dogs are made welcome, too! A very frequent haunt of my family for lunch after a walk along the towpath with our dogs. Perfect!

Can't comment on rooms as only used the restaurant.A beautiful location and setting, and it's my friends safe, comfy and favourite place and she loves the staff who look after her. However, for what we ate and drank for lunch was way over priced. I've never paid £3.10 for a pint of soda and lime cordial before unless in a swanky bar in London, it's usually £1/1.50 is standard. We had Caesar salads and this consisted of some chopped lettuce, 2 thin slices of cucumber, 3 croutons and 1 cherry tomato cut in half and little dressing. We added the chicken for £2.95 each but there wasn't a lot and it was pale and unappealing, £15.45 each for the salad. A portion of skinny fries each was £3.25. They thankfully didn't charge for the hot water and lemon. The total bill was over £40 - very overpriced for food that was underwhelming. I can't fault the staff, they were lovely but I didn't want to say anything in front of my friend. If I can make a suggestion, please review the price or the portions and quality. This could be a really great place to have lunch but next time I think I will stick to drinks only.In comparison this evening my husband and I stopped off on the A1 at a random service area and paid £32 for an exceptionally enjoyable burger with all the trimmings, steak and ale pie, a pot of tea and a pint of orange juice and lemonade (this drink was half the price of the soda and lime too).
