It´s taken me a long time to write this review as there is so much emotion attached to this experience, but I don´t want other couples to make the same mistake.We booked our wedding here in 2020, and I want to make it clear that we booked after Covid had started (at a time when most venues had already rescheduled all of their weddings for the year - which I knew as I contacted plenty). I contacted them mid-May in fact, and enquired whether a small wedding towards the end of the year would be possible as my fiance´s mother was terminally ill and didn´t have long. We knew it was extraordinary circumstances and that things were changing constantly, but they assured us that a wedding could go ahead with the required covid measures, so we were thrilled.To cut a long story short, there was a lot of correspondence at the beginning, and there was a lot of reassurance about the event going ahead. But in hindsight, this was all to get us to sign their proposal for a wedding package and pay for a minimum of 40 guests (which meant £4,000 as a deposit from us) - even though 20 guests were only allowed at this time.Like other reviews have said, they generally ignored our calls and were so difficult to get a hold of, and it was us that had to push things along. This was extremely stressful as we had the stress of covid, the stress of losing a parent, and the stress of family who were anxious about how this was all going to happen.Now, we weren´t naive or oblivious to what was going on in the world at this time; we were just desperate for this all to go ahead in time for my mother-in-law to be there. So that is what is so upsetting with how this was handled. They completely misled us at a time where we were extremely vulnerable, and to make matters worse, they didn´t give us any money back when the wedding was cancelled just under 4 weeks before.They were very clever with the wording in their contract - they said we would get a refund if they determined they weren´t able / or were restricted from proceeding, but not if we choose to cancel the event - and that´s what they´ll refer to justify not giving a penny back to us.We did not choose to cancel, another lockdown was announced which would have prevented them from being able to host the event. And this is what is sickening - every other wedding venue bent over backwards during this time to reschedule or refund couples, regardless of what contracts said, and they chose to be extremely petty, even knowing our extenuating circumstance on top of the stress of covid.I can´t stress enough how much grief this caused us. We lost a lot of money, we had to replan a wedding again from scratch, and my fiance´s mother passed away not long after so we never got to have her at our wedding. Fforest Farm cost us far more than we could ever forgive, and we´re not the only ones (see Series 20, Episode 13 of X-Ray).

We had an our wedding here in September 2023, it’s taken a while for me to write a review as I struggle to put into words how amazing a weekend we had!The key highlights of a Fforest wedding for us was the range and amount of accommodation on site, the easy going staff and, most importantly, the ability to use the beautiful site as a blank canvas so you can have a really personal wedding.During the planning stage Leanne and her spreadsheet helped us structure our day and implement some weird and wonderful ideas! The collaborative approach really takes the stress out of planning and Leanne is lovely to work with (as are Jackson and Kelly and everyone else).On the weekend the food, drinks etc. were amazing as you’d expect from Fforest. We had a lot of guests say it was the best wedding food they’d had. The staff were great on the day as well and I particularly appreciated how they kept us to schedule in an unobtrusive way.Thanks for the best weekend of our lives!(Photo credit: Jake Morley - who is also great)

Brilliant from start to finish. Atmosphere, staff, accommodation and food all excellent. Felt very secure but close to nature and adventure. Great location for beaches and countryside. I’d like to move out that direction. Don’t know how I didn’t discover this place sooner.

Fforest hosted our weekend wedding celebration, with 160 members of our raucous family and friends in tow. From the word go the Fforest wedding team were on call to answers all of our (many) questions and requests and we had several meetings scheduled in the run up to the wedding to help us navigate our way through all of the wedding planning from accommodation, to menus and schedule, even helping us source our fantastic photographer, florist and babysitter. The team were open to us making the weekend our own and enthusiastic about our ideas.The Fforest grounds are absolutely stunning. We couldn’t have hoped for a more beautiful setting for our weekend and the weekend ran seamlessly, thanks to the planning team and experienced onsite events team.The food (all of which was supplied by the florist team) was absolutely spectacular (as were the home brewed ales) and no one was ever left hungry.All of the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and capable and made the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish. We couldn’t recommend them enough.

We had our wedding at Fforest at the beginning of October having been planning since April 2021. …
