Stopped for 2 nights as my partner had a wedding to attend nearby. The room was large, and the beds were massive! The pub serves food. The meal we tried was typical pub grub; no nonsense and hearty. The owners were friendly and accommodating. This is a handy place to stay if you're attending a wedding, flying to and from the airport or just want to explore the area.

Very nice room and decent facilities. Lovely location. Only shame was that the pub was shut despite it being advertised as open on the website and the opening times on the door, as would loved to have enjoyed a pint after a long drive. 😀

Tried out a Sunday roast today for the first time here. The roast was really good, lovely flavour for a vegetarian roast. Not impressed that the mushroom wellington was £19 and very small albeit enough to satisfy, but my husbands pork was £16 in comparison. No specific kids menu so had to order the veggie roast @ £19 which they took off £3.80 making a very expensive kids meal and it came out basically the same as mine. They also only had one high chair which was set up for a table that was running late and luckily our food came out as they had just ordered some I embarrassingly had to ask to borrow it for our baby so we could eat without a baby on lap. Luckily the timings worked out well in that instance. Lastly the flush didn’t work in the disabled toilet so I was a bit embarrassed to tell the waitress that after my son had needed a no.2!We also over heard other tables being told they were out of the only veggie option and it wasn’t even that busy and early lunchtime on a Sunday.Seems it’s not set up for kids or vegetarians. The service was not terrible but not great, under whelming considering how good the actual food tasted, albeit over priced considering everything.

We ate at the Seymour last week. The new menu is fantastic (the lemon sole was amazing) and has good variety. The service was attentive and knowledgeable. My brother has also recently stayed in the Seymour’s rooms when he visited Blagdon. They are clean and beautifully presented. Fab breakfasts too.Overall, highly recommended and a great base to explore the Mendips!

Used the Seymour Arms as a stopover. We were delighted with both the room and the superb food. Our only very slight jiggle was that the menu had been replaced by a Christmas menu. However the food was superb and not at all what comes to mind when thinking of a Xmas menu.I have already added this place to my list of must visit and stay again places.

We’ve lived in the village for just under a decade and seem a couple of changes in management over that time. Had Sunday lunch yesterday; first meal under the new management. Hands down the best food we’ve had there. Would highly recommend.

Stayed two nights and had dinner one night. Room was on main road side of the pub. Having looked at past reviews it seems that there’s plenty of praise for dining but less so for the rooms. My experience echoes this.First the positives - Room spacious, bed very comfy and huge. Netflix on TV. Cooked breakfasts and evening meal tasty. Staff friendly. Road noise not so bad (have seen some reviews complain of it).Now the negatives – Checked in room and noticed that there was no soap or shampoo. Reported to bar and managed to get a tiny amount of soap. Expected to get room serviced for 2nd day and perhaps get some soap and restock of tea, milk, etc. However, the room was not serviced (and there is no sign/notice about this). Were told that breakfast doesn’t start until 8am, but breakfast on first morning took 40 mins to prepare and we were the only guests waiting. On the 2nd morning we had to wait 10 minutes for someone to show up and take orders. Cooked breakfast was tasty but there were no other options (e.g. toast, cereals, etc). Room wall divides are a bit thin (lots of sound from neighbouring guests). Decking area connecting accommodation to car park is a safety hazard when wet.
