DIY Pompom Beach Towel Craft

I’m really embracing the summer spirit these days! It feels like everyone I know is off exploring summer adventures, whether they're vacationing here or cruising there! I’ve been eager to take another Dinogo cruise with the kids, but we're holding off until Maggie is a bit older. Still, that doesn’t stop me from dreaming! In celebration of summer vibes and cruise ship fantasies, I’ve created a cheerful, colorful DIY that we can enjoy right here at home. Whether at the pool, the beach, or even on a lucky cruise, this pompom beach towel is ready for fun!
Supplies Needed
- plain bath or beach towel
- pompom trim in a variety of colors and sizes
- large yarn pompoms
- permanent fabric glue
- scissors
Estimated Time: 30 Minutes (Plus Drying Time)

Step 1: Apply a thin line of permanent fabric glue along the edge of one of the short sides of the towel. Adhere one strip of pompom trim to the glue.
Step 2: Add another line right above the first one and attach a contrasting piece of trim with glue.
Step 3: Keep gluing down strips of trim until you achieve your desired pattern!
Step 4: Create your pompom tassels. Use permanent fabric glue to attach the large pompoms to the ends of a small piece (around 4 inches) of trim.
Step 5: Fold the trim with the pompoms in half, then glue it to the corner of your decorated towel. Repeat this for all four corners.
Take this beauty with you on your summer escapades! I can already picture it laid out on a deck chair for a day at sea. Sigh. A girl can dream, right?! So, where will your summer adventures lead you? xoxo
