As a new year unfolds, it's time to refresh your travel bucket list. However, deciding where to go can be daunting. Safety remains a top priority for many travelers, especially solo adventurers, whose numbers are on the rise. A recent survey by Booking.com found that 59 percent of travelers are considering solo trips in 2024.
For those planning their 2024 adventures, whether traveling alone or in a group, Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection has just released its ninth annual “State of Travel Insurance Safest Destination” report. This report reveals the safest countries and cities, providing you with reassurance and inspiration for your travel decisions in 2024.
To create the rankings, Berkshire Hathaway analyzed feedback from 1,702 travelers surveyed between August 24 and September 13, 2023, alongside data from third-party sources. They assessed factors like terrorism, weather threats, health safety, and the protection of underrepresented groups. The rankings also incorporate information from the U.S. State Department, The Economist, and Global Finance magazine, among other resources.
