Le Grand Bleu Hôtel

Super friendly hotel owner ams an amazing room we stayed in. The breakfast was not included but at 100 batt for a delicious sandwich that was ok.

I initially had a few days booked, but because it was so comfortable, clean and all the staff and owners were so lovely, I decided to extend my stay! Jacques and Rung the owners are very friendly, very warm and was always a joy to see them day to day. The same has to be said for all the staff too! They create a great energy which starts off the days on Koh Phangan really well.My room was huge! Cleaned really well and excellent facilities! I felt very much at home and will most definetly be returning.I'd highly recommend Le Grand Bleu Hotel for all kinds of travellers. If you are a family, couple or solo traveller, this hotel ticks all the boxes. Very tasty and fresh bread made on site too!Big big thank you again to Jacques and Rung, aswell as all the staff at Le Grand Bleu Hotel! :)

Hotel was good, rooms big and pretty new. Owner is a nice guy, the water heater broke down in our room and he did everything he could to fix it right away. Only downside was the cleanliness on arrival - not the best.

You can't find better.The rooms are superb.The restaurant, the bakery, the delicatessen are exceptional. Everything homemade, incredibly good.The Thai staff is very friendly.If you are divers, the club is perfect. Otherwise, it doesn't matter, your stay will be excellent and pleasant.Jacques, his wife, and their team will know how to accommodate you. Friendly and warm.

This impressive hotel has everything you could wish for, and more! Excellent on-site restaurant, serving up everything from breakfast to dinner, includes homemade (genuine) French breads and pastries, saucisson, terrine, and a beautiful wine selection! They rent scooters, offer diving lessons and excursions, and more. Owners and their staff are truly lovely, what a wonderful experience!!

Unfortunately, absolutely inflexible and not remotely customer-oriented. Outdated and rigid cancellation policies that are only interested in raking in as much money as possible and not allowing cancellations.Many hotels on Phangan and the neighboring islands can do this better.It will never be an option for me again.

VERY OVERPRICED. This is the first time I'm writing a bad review. As a host myself I know what the impact could have. This review has been written after giving the host plenty of opportunities to address my complaints and after mediation of Booking.com who gave me a refund. I booked the Grand Blue Hotel for 3 nights; upon arrival the staff didn’t know where it was. There are no lifts and had to drag my suitcase upstairs, no one offers to help. Upon checking the room. I immediately saw that the room was not as advertised. Very overpriced and definitely not 4 stars. The room is at a busy road which you don’t see on the picture. All the amenities are below standard for the price you're paying. After talking to the owner, I tried to be reasonable and negotiate a shorter stay. He would have none of it and was very rude on the phone. Later that night I had 2 quests over and we found underwear as the room was not properly cleaned. I reported it to the owner. Nobody came to clean it, so I asked for a fair compensation as I had to remove and clean it myself. After that the communication took a turn for the worse. I was called a liar and the host threatened to call the police as he thought I planted and staged the whole thing to get money back. It was never about the money. Even though I had witnesses. I believe as a host you always should stay professional and never call your guests a liar and certainly not start to threaten to call the police. This would have easily been resolved by sending a cleaner immediately and just a simple gesture of compensation. I would have settled for a simple drink, and I wouldn't have written this. I checked out after 1 night even though I paid for 3, after not feeling safe being threatened. Again, not about the money otherwise I would have stayed. Upon checkout I was called a liar by the Belgian chef in front of my 2 guests. I refused to stoop down to his level, so I left. The Thai staff was nice but the owner and Belgian chef are very abrasive, rude. Sending nasty messages. Booking.com intervened and gave me a compensation. I checked in the Zee Luxury Boutique Hotel, negotiated the same price as the Grand Blue Hotel. Compared to Grand Blue hotel it’s a world of difference on every level. Quality, Service and how they thread customer. Truly 5 stars. It’s not about the money but about respect which the Grand Blue doesn’t have for customer. I believe in karma also in business this place will go bankrupt if they keep threating customers like this. Avoid at all costs: OVERPRICED, RUDE STAFF, poor price/quality, can't change booking. Pros: Thai staff was nice and stayed professional.
