Crazy overpriced basic room. The room smelled if you left the window closed. The bed was very uncomfortable. The owner asks what do you expect got €20... I expect a clean room that doesn't smell.I had a bungalow on Ko Pha-ngan for less than I paid for this room... Please look elsewhere for accommodation as Ava 2 Budget Hotel is terrible. They want you to take your shoes off on entry but don't provide a towel for you to wipe your feet on, so the corridors are all sand and it goes into the room. The fixtures were all old and nearly hanging off the walls. The AC was loudThis was the worst hotel I stayed at on my whole Thailand trip and yet it was the most expensive..Please look elsewhere as the only good thing about this hotel is that there is a 7 eleven across the streetRude receptionist.Oh and I rented a bike through them. The first one I had to return after a day as the front suspension was making a horrible noise going over bumps. The 2nd bike was old and felt like it had never been serviced, making noise from the chain etc.... Please rent a bike elsewhere, they are everywhere and easy to find and most are same price but newer....I would recommend looking at other places to stay as the island is that small and everyone has bikes anyway, that it really doesn't matter to be close to the 2 main streets.I was gutted I stayed here for 5 nights. No refund so I had to stay the full time. Staying here made me look forward to getting back to Ko Pha-ngan where I stayed in a beautiful bungalow for 800 bhat per night.. Oh la la bungalows

Small room but with everything you need to be in Ko Tao. Some water outage problem, otherwise fine. Quite central.

Room was a disaster. 4th floor and with fan, without private bathroom for 22€ per night. It's unbearably hot up there. The water often fails in showers and taps. There are also ants everywhere. You get a towel as a blanket. After the hotel we went to another one nearby, where we paid less for our own bathroom and air conditioning.Reception is also not particularly friendly and ignores you when you go in.Communication isn't particularly easy either. For the price, the competition on Koh Tao is simply stronger and also better located.

We loved this place so much, we booked 4 nights and ended up staying 11! It was central but not noisy at night, only a 5 minute walk from the pier.

One of the best stays in Thailand. It was the cheapest option for us for 2 person room with AC. There was a big TV with internet, room was clean, AC very good and there was even free water coffee! I enjoyed every second here, very friendly stuff, definitely recommend!PS: One time there was a big coacroach in our room but the owner took care, still 5 stars

Awesome place to stay in Koh Tao! It's super central, right across from 7/11 and surrounded by delicious Thai restaurants, just a step away from the hustle and bustle of the port. The rooms are basic but have everything you need. The beds are incredibly comfortable with the softest sheets you'll ever find! We booked an aircon room that also had a fan and a window you can open. Plenty of space to hang out your clothes and unpack your bag. The staff is very friendly and helpful too!

If you're thinking about staying here - simply, don't. Unclean showers, you'll melt to death on the fourth floor, and don't get me started on the 'island wide power cuts' that turned out to be just our hotel when our friends from other another hotel told us they were perfectly fine.If you need more of a reason as to why you shouldn't stay here - read the reviews and all the hosts petty responses denying all the VERY accurate reviews put up should say it all.Need I say more!Edit: proof of staying here - the owner is identical to Gru from Despicable Me.
