What a find!Wifey saw this place on YouTube so huge thanks toAdventures with JBhttps://youtu.be/LB-N2-krDgY?si=SHfOFicplRZSTjFVWe arrived late at night and were dropped at the main resort reception of Khao Sok River and Jungle Resort but within moments were whisked away, the 400m drive, to where the bungalows complex is at the other end of the Khao Sok town itself which is a busy, adventurer type town with great bars and restaurants. From the outset the service we received was excellent from all of the staff and especially A.A. (he told us that was the best way to quote his name). He could get everything you needed sorted and, as other reviewers mention, always delivers at a better price than anyone else. The breakfast consists of Thai donuts, and a choice of cereals, cooked items, choice of eggs with hot or cold drinks and they will keep topping up your cup if you so wish. Our bungalow, number 3, was about 20m from the eating area where A.A. was based and a 2 minute walk to the main road that held the town strip.Being in the rainforest mozzies at night are plentiful hence the mosquito net. We found that if you closed the net around the bed and overlapped the cloth where it met then held it closed tight with a hair clasp and tucked the bottom in along the bottom of the bed but let the sides drop to the floor and pile up you could get in and out on either side and just ensure the surplus fell to the floor it kept them out.Clearly any other steps you take to keep them out of the bungalow in the first place will help.We didn't experience the ants that JB mentions in his video. We took part in the lake trip. An excellent, full day out and very good value even at 1500bht per head. Its about an hour ride in a minibus to get there where we met our guide, One, who took us through the National Park 200bht per person fee and the Local Authority 40bht per person fees.Considering how busy the location is this money is vital to maintain the location's beauty and cleanliness etc whilst making it an accessible venue for most. Those who are significantly less able might struggle but I am sure that the kind, helpful people there will do whatever they can to maximise your visit. The ride out along the lake, very easy going jungle "trek", cave visit and lunch stop were great. The food was tops, grilled fish plus salads, rice and all the trimings. You could get more of everything except the fish. You can swim at the lunch stop but must wear a life vest, clearly someone overestimated their ability and this has now bern brought in to protect the venue. There are kayaks available as well.Word of advice, keep an eye on your life vest as they might go missing. No doubt the various companies redistribute them between themselves as needed because they tend to be labelled by your company's name. These lake trips are very popular and the lunch venue does get busy.At the end of out stay A.A. arranged for our journey to Krabie by minibus which was great and for much less than quoted by anyone including the minibus company themselves, go figure!!He really is the man! 🙏🙏
