Kind host, but unsanitary room, dirty, damp walls, greasy dust everywhere, air conditioning that doesn't work (no more gas), floor that creaks and guest who wakes everyone up at 4:00 in the morning...

Lovely host. I don't speak a word of Japanese and she still tried her best to help me with what I need. The rooms are tidy and clean room.

Coffee, tea, snack (&shochu!) available in common kitchen. Lots of left over fuel tanks for cooking for your hike, so I didn’t have to buy! 5 minutes walk from the bus stop. You can also use the kitchen and the gas tank left behind by hikers, so you don't have to buy one!

I don't want to talk about it too much because I want to keep it a secret. I had a really comfortable time.

After climbing Mt. Miyanoura, we heard that the weather was going to get worse starting tomorrow, so we hurriedly descended to the Arakawa trailhead. I was able to stay overnight thanks to the arrangement of the person who manages this place. I was able to have dinner nearby and have breakfast with croissants and instant coffee in the communal kitchen. A rice cooker, electric kettle, tableware, pots, and a refrigerator are also provided. The toilet is not a washlet. It was nice to drink Mitake too.

I stayed with my wife, so we had a twin bed room. |The room next door also has twin beds, but it is separated by a sliding door that cannot be opened, so you can hear voices and other sounds from everyday life. …

This is the inn where I stayed for 2 nights and 3 days.I think it will be a good base for exploring Yakushima. We had Yakusugi cedar scraps (they don't seem to have them all the time) shared with us, and we were able to create a souvenir that still makes me want to go to Yakushima when I look at it.
