Since I was using the prefectural discount, it was much more reasonable than usual, so my scoring criteria was lowered accordingly. At this price, I feel like I can't complain if it's 1 night, 2 meals, and free drinks.I made this choice because I needed to stay in Shimoda for work and had a limit on travel expenses, but I don't think I would choose it if it was for private purposes. Please understand that.

I used to be a citizen of Shimoda, but I was curious about it, so I finally decided to use it. lolWhat really caught my attention⚪︎The mats placed at the entrances and exits of the large public bath, indoor bath, and open-air bath in the old building were covered in black stains, perhaps mold, so I hesitated to touch them.⚪︎The tableware at the dining venue was dirty. (Black stains on the beer glass and dry rice scum on the bowl)⚪︎There was a very strong smell in the pocket folder in the guest room and the toilet.Super good point⚪︎Rooms facing the ocean have a panoramic view of Oura Bay and you can hear the sound of the waves. Mikomoto Island is in the distance, and the light of the lighthouse can be seen at night.⚪︎The customer service of the employees was very good. The woman at the front desk and the man at the dining hall.⚪︎I'm glad the temperature of the bathtub was a little hot lol.Perhaps due to the sea breeze, the building has deteriorated considerably. In some areas, the concrete has peeled off and the reinforcing bars are exposed. It may be unnecessary, but wouldn't it be better to do some maintenance on the exterior wall as soon as possible? I thought so.Also, although it is a little far from the nearest station, I think it is within an acceptable range. There is also a bus stop (Ouraguchi) nearby. I will use it again.

The beach is right in front of you and you can walk around it, so it's great for a morning walk.Even if you don't open the window, you can hear the waves just by being in the room. Both breakfast and dinner were good meals for the price.Dinner is all-you-can-drink alcohol, so everyone seems to be enjoying themselves mainly with alcohol. The cups in the room were covered with cleaned bags, but I was a little disappointed that many of them were dirty with dust. Also, the hot spring baths for men and women are switched in the morning and night, but if you walk outside the open-air bath on the second floor, you can almost see it through the gaps in the trees, so if you're concerned about that, it might be better to stay indoors only. .Considering that you can stay at a good price and meals are included, it's a good deal ( ◜ᴗ◝)

Loved my stay here!Yes it’s a really old ryokan. But if you want an authentic experience this is the place to go. It felt like you can stay and be part of the town. The staff were super accommodating and they always greet you with a smile. I can’t really speak Japanese fluently, but they have these translation devices ready to help and understand. The hotel also lends you bicycles (limited) for free. I got yo bike around. And it takes you to the loveliest beach around the area. You can also drive there and they have multiple lots available for you. There’s a little arcade (really small so don’t expect a big one) a karaoke room (how cool ya). Coin laundry and dryer!Came with breakfast and dinner!I met spiders and a lizard though. But for the price range this is quite a steal (the space is huge and view, beautiful). Still loved the place. Haha it’s really homey.

I stayed in room 605.The ocean view from the room was very beautiful, but I was disappointed that there was a lot of bird droppings on the edge of the balcony, so I decided to enjoy the view while drinking beer! !The room itself was old, but it was cleaner than I expected, and the boiled golden sea bream I ordered for dinner was delicious.

On the first day of my trip across Izu, I took the Kadowaki Suspension Bridge -> Dogashima Pleasure Boat -> Toi -> Ferry - I used the Shimizu plan for the first night after the Kadowaki Suspension Bridge. Room-only plan (to eat local fish sushi and other food in the neighborhood) The relay point of the trip is Izukyu Shimoda → Bus Dogashima, so the access is △ (25 minutes walk from the station), and the inside of the inn is a bit sad but old. There was a lot of vibration as it was directly above the large bath. It's along the coast, so it might be good for fishing. Well, I would consider other facilities by Itoen, but I probably won't use them next time... 🤔 But I was very sweaty walking in the heat, so I was grateful for the large public bath 😆

A little harsh reviewIt's not bad. Includes past evaluations. It's on the second floor, and there are electric wires in the way, butOcean view is nice. When I stayed in the past,I had to wait a long time to check in, and two people who came later were also checked in first.I have complained...It felt like they didn't know how to treat customers. It's about the past. The Itoen Group is famous for its buffet,I've used it a few times and didn't find anything very tasty, so I only stayed here without meals. There are several delicious restaurants in Shimoda town.In addition, in front of me,There is no lifeguard, so it is your own responsibility.I can swim.I had a lot of fun snorkeling.Blue tit, Solas damselfish,Kitamakura, Mitsuboshikuro damselfishI was able to see it.

It was the worstI don't want to stay at this hotel again.⚪︎Guest roomThe downstairs is like a dining room, and the music in the dining room is very loud from early morning until around 9 pm, and you can often hear the sound of chairs being pulled. At night, you can also hear people talking in other rooms, and you can hear them until 3 am, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. did.The floor in the hallway was so thin that it sunk in when I walked on it, and the room was constantly shaking at about a magnitude 2 quake. The equipment was old and the air conditioner didn't work well, so I had to set the temperature frequently, which was a hassle. Also, sometimes the air conditioner makes a loud noise. The toilet is very small, and the washlet is forced to be placed diagonally, causing your head to hit it. It was unpleasant. There was dust everywhere, as if it hadn't been cleaned much. The public bath was very small, and during busy times we had to wait a while to get into the bathtub. Also, there were a lot of moths flying in the bathtub, which made me feel uncomfortable.⚪︎CorridorIt was very hot and the windows were open, so there were bugs everywhere and it was disgusting.Do you want to save on air conditioning equipment costs and electricity bills?⚪︎ServiceMaybe they were busy, but when I asked the front desk staff for help, they clicked their tongues. The check-in explanation was difficult to understand as it seemed like it was coming from a new person.⚪︎LocationI came by car, but the roads are narrow and difficult to drive. The downside was that it was a little far from the parking lot and you had to walk a little.
