The typical type of room where you sleep on the floor was very nice, however a few small problems:- check-in is not done in the building where you sleep but 5 minutes away on foot- the accommodation resembles an “air-b-n-b”, there is no elevator, being with my companion, we had 2 large suitcases in the hold + 1 cabin suitcase + 2 large backpacks, it was complicated to climb the stairs which are also very steep, we had to climb 2 floors- upon arriving at our floor the corridor switch was broken so it was impossible to turn it off at night and the light came into the room despite the door being closed- in the corridors it is stiflingly hot, even hotter than outside, the toilets are in the corridor, we know loudly as soon as we go there- two days in a row, we had water leaks coming from the ceiling and it was impossible to say what it was coming from and we could not warn the staff either since the building is elsewhere and the problem happened in the evening before bed (see the photos, you can't see very well and I had already cleaned a little before the photos)- we share showers for the whole building (I think there were only two), same for the toilets and the sink- we wanted to use the hotel's machines except that there was only one, we were able to wash our laundry, however impossible to dry it because the dryer did not dry at all, ¥200 for 30 min, we tried to run it 3x, so 1h30, the laundry was still as wet as at the start as if we had done nothing whereas in other laundries, 30 min is enough to dry the laundry, we had to go to another laundromat 5 mins walk away at 11:30 p.m. so it wasted a lot of time- we had booked for three nights, the staff only came every 4 nights to clean which meant that the trash can in our room was overflowing, we were forced to put the waste next to the trash can.- the walls are very thin, so you can hear everything that happens in the other rooms

I think it is a good price for this location in Kyoto, but I expected to have a bathroom inside my room, as shown in the photo. But the toilet was public after all. There is a public sento around the corner. Nothing specific I would say. I've seen much better ryokans/hotels in Japan for a lower price. Still, it's good for 1-2 nights.

Stayed for 2 nights in early May 2024.A guest house with up to 4 floors.I stayed in a double room on the first floor + a tatami room with a private bathroom. The room was neat and spacious.I don't have much experience staying at Geha, so it's hard to compare it to other places, but I think it's great for the price.Shampoo, body wash, towels, and bath towels provided. (Towels are not changed every day)The reception was in a different building, but it wasn't far away so it wasn't inconvenient, and the staff were very friendly.

Supposedly a traditional hotel, very bad, the smell of matcha in the room remains until the fifth generation, I don't recommend it

First of all, there is a private toilet and shower room in the room. The location is close to Kyoto Station, and convenient facilities, restaurants, and tourist attractions such as Nishi Honganji Temple, bicycle rentals, and convenience stores are nearby. It was good. There are many places where you can enjoy traveling by walking or public transportation. And the staff is very, very friendly!I felt really good because they were very kind and helpful when checking in and asking questions.I think it would be a good option if you are looking for accommodation near Kyoto Station. - A certain Korean 🐤.

Since the front desk is far from the accommodation, you cannot immediately exchange money when using the coin laundry. Go to the front desk (reception), which is a 3-5 minute walk, and exchange money. The coin laundry only accepts 100 yen coins and is located outside, making it unsuitable for use during the cold fall and winter. Prices are also higher than other places.Other lodging facilities charge 200 or 300 yen, but Ikoiya is 400 yen (washing) 200 yen (drying [30 minutes] does not dry completely even after 30 minutes)There are kitchen cookers, but some people don't know how to use them. There is a shared kitchen space, but it can only seat 6 people, so if there is one group or many families, others cannot use it.There is a public bathhouse a 1-minute walk away, and I heard from the owner of the place where I was staying that it was famous for its hot springs, so I went there and it was great. I didn't cook for myself, but I went to a 24-hour supermarket and heated up packaged rice and side dishes that could be heated in the microwave. Eating out is nice, but the side dishes made at the local supermarket have a homemade taste, so I think you can enjoy them that way. It's about a 15 minute walk from the station, and I think it's a good distance to walk while looking at the cityscape of Kyoto.

Very near to kyoto station and the infamous geisha street ( ard 10-15 mins walking distance). Receptionist was friendly and accommodating. The ryokan was clean and tidy. They have self laundry service on the rooftop (detergent capsule available for purchase at the reception). They also offer Japanese traditional breakfast with reasonable price. For breakfast and dinner is optional, please get the menu from the staff. Room service only after 3 days. The only cons was the futon and pillow provided were too thin (i stayed in a traditional and affordable ryokan in asakusa too but the futon and pillow were way comfortable). I love the private small onsen! Please check the availability at least 1 hour before. Private bath (onsen) for 5500 yen/hr. Overall, i am satisfied with the stay. Will def come back!

This is an inn located in the middle of an ordinary cityscape in Kyoto. There was a public bath next door. …

Love this place! It’s a traditional tatami! And the location is also good! Except the sound insulation is not very good, I like it very much! The service of the little sister at the front desk is also very good! …
