The inside is nice but it's hard to get into. The Wi-Fi was also slow so it might be difficult.

A place where you can truly experience a traditional Japanese house. Although it was cold, considering that most traditional Japanese houses are like that, I was satisfied because it was faithful to historical research. However, since it is located in a residential area, you had to be careful about noise.

Self-check-in to prevent infection. As others have written, it's in a place that you can't get to just by looking at the address (Google Maps is also useless), but you'll be sent a document with pictures of how to get there from Higashiyama Station in advance, so you don't have to worry about that. There is a rice cooker, coffee maker, and microwave. There are no knives or gas stoves, so cooking is not possible. There are enough tableware, so you can buy some side dishes and enjoy them.If you go to Higashioji Dori on the west side, there is a 24-hour supermarket and a coin laundry, which is very convenient. There are many elderly people living in the neighborhood, so it is good manners to be quiet at night.

If you don't get lost, it's about a 4 minute walk from Higashiyama Station platform. Even when I entered the designated alley, I was worried, ``Is there a hotel in the back? ? ''This is an old Kyoto row house in a small town (?).I unlocked the electronic lock using the code I had been given in advance. After completing the registration process at the entrance (filling in the accommodation book and giving a brief explanation), you can spend your time freely without any involvement. The first floor is the living room, toilet, kitchen, and bathroom. The second floor is the bedroom (it looks like it can fit about 5 futons. It's spacious). Recommended for families with children.

If you want the perfect Kyoto experience, stay here! It is in a private renovated inn (townhouse) complete with an amazing shower and bathroom, a kitchen area, space to hang out, and you sleep on tatami mats which are very comfortable. Besides from the space being amazing, it is very close to convenient stores, el puente coffee, an amazing natural wine and Italian/Japanese restaurant called Estre, a craft beer place, an under cover market and trains! One train stop was a few min walk and the other was around 8 min. 10 min walk to the Gion area, temples, and Pontocho Alley. They even accomodated us 1 day early due to a typhoon. I cannot wait to come back to Kyoto and stay here again. My husband and I joked about buying the place if we could. :)
