The place is 5 minute walk from Hakodate station where one can take the bus up Mt Hakodate for the gorgeous night views. It’s also close the morning market. I got a single traditional Japanese style room, with a few complimentary amenities that you can’t find in a hostel.The host and his family are super friendly!

Small hotel. In order to spend the night, and given the prices, this is a very optimal place to stop. Please note(!) there are rooms with shower and toilet, as well as without these conditions. The price will of course vary. The grandfather at the reception is very friendly and welcoming. A real home hotel.

It is a convenient and cute accommodation that is close to the JR station and bus stop. Above all, the owner is very kind. It rained and all my shoes got wet, but I was surprised to see that the shoes I left in the common entrance the next day were completely dry, but they dried each guest's shoes one by one using a dryer. And the cats you see sometimes are really cute.

Very friendly owner, great hotel, clean and cozy. The address is not far from Hakodate and the price/performance ratio is very high.The weather was super nice on the morning we left. It was really unforgettable to pet the cute fat cat while chatting with the boss. The gray kitten didn't seem to want to be touched by me. The boss said it broke in suddenly two weeks ago, so he took it in.

What a cute hotel! The decorations were amazing and the staffs were super friendly. There are free parking on the side. The room we stayed in was clean and size is reasonably to the price. It's a perfect fit for those on a budget trip. They have e a microwave in the lobby and mini fridge in the rooms. The shared washrooms are packed with amenities like shampoo and face clenser. They don't have an elevator though, which is not a really big deal unless you have lots of luggages. The owner also has cats! They were very adorable and sometimes you can hear them from the second floor at night but really lightly.Overall, I definitely recommend staying here!

Highly recommended. The country-style decoration, the staff are very friendly and kind, and the environment is very clean. The makeup remover and facial cleanser are from Shiseido. The shower shampoo smells good. I checked online and found that it is used by many big hotels. All the supplies are great. People are surprised and practical.

Great location, 6 minutes walk from Hakodate Station 🚆The staff at the store are also kind ☺️The rooms and bathrooms are clean and have plenty of amenities.I was able to relax in a retro room ☀️And the cat was also very cute🐈A place with warmth that money can't buy 💐

About 20 years ago, my classmates and I decided to go from Ebetsu to Hakodate, and while we were sightseeing in Hakodate, we decided to stay somewhere, so we started calling business hotels and regular hotels at random. However, it was during Golden Week and all the rooms were full so it was no good. When I called Puppy Tail, the male owner told me that there might be a room available (cancellation), so if all else fails, I should come directly to the hotel. When I went there, he apologized and said he was sorry that he couldn't let me stay because I had to cancel. I told him not to worry about it since I had requested him so suddenly, but the owner told me to wait for a while and called someone and told me that although it was a guesthouse, he had secured a room for me. He told me that he was there so I felt safe. I tearfully thanked the owner and said thank you again and again and was able to stay safely at the guesthouse.I can't thank the owner enough for the warm hospitality he gave me, so I decided to write here.Thank you very much for that time.

I had a very pleasant stay at this lovely guesthouse at Hakodate. This is the perfect place if you're looking to experience traditional japanese style rooms in Hakodate at an affordable rate. Toilets and baths are shared but they were clean and not an issue. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming, and I would definitely recommend staying here.

It is a very small, clean accommodation with a private bathroom. There is parking available. There will be snacks for you on the way back. Lovely service, impressive. Unfortunately there is no elevator.

Anyway, the location is good, there's a covered parking lot, and there's a fairly cheap GS right in front of you, so it's recommended for people who come by car and for women.The laundry is out of order. I appreciate that there is a conditioner and cleansing foam (separate from the face wash).There are no disposable slippers, but slippers are provided, along with a toothbrush, yukata, and towels.There is also a microwave in the lobby on the first floor.I rented a room with an indoor unit bath, but there are also separate baths for men and women.Whether the room and accessories are quite fancy is a matter of personal preference. The manager's attitude is also nice.Close to the station and free of parking fees. In the summer, covered parking is even better.There were 5 hangers in the room I stayed in.The refrigerator is a one-door refrigerator without a freezing function.Hair dryer and kettle are provided in the room.The body soap had a nice scent.

It was my best apartment during my 1 week south to north Japan trip, when comparing same amount of money spent.You are being welcomed very very friendly.Everything is clean, you’re welcome package includes everything, for example tooth brush, razor, and much more.The rooms are big and really quiet - you don’t hear traffic jam.Everything is clean, I have really nothing to complain about!

From the perspective of a Hokkaido camping touring riderI stayed at this pension for sightseeing at Mt. Hakodate Observatory.I made a reservation due to the low price and good location.There's a gas station next door, so it's convenient; however, the cheapest gas station is just down the road in front of Matsumae.It takes less than 10 minutes to get to the station, so the next day we went to Hakodate Morning Market Donburi Yokocho, which is adjacent to the station, for breakfast early in the morning.You can reach Hakodateyama Ropeway Sanroku Station in about 30 minutes by leisurely strolling around the bay area.It is far to walk to Goryokaku, but Mt. Hakodate and the bay area are close, so I recommend walking 😃The building is old, and it feels more like an old student dormitory than a pension. There was a bit of a smell in the room, but I got used to it over time. I'm glad that a new air conditioner has been installed. There doesn't seem to be any air conditioning in the hallways, toilets, etc., so it was very hot when I stayed there in late July 😅Taking a bath with 3 adults can be nerve-wracking.Unfortunately, the toilet facilities are new, but perhaps because the sensor was in a bad position, the light would turn off when I was doing my business.There was no light coming in from outside, so it was pitch black, which was very troublesome. lol)You can put your bike in a garage with a shutter, but the steps are so steep that if you have a large bike, it might be difficult to put it in from the back.You put it in from the front and unfold it inside, but it's narrow so that's a bit of a problem. It was a struggle 😩

A small hotel with a nice owner. We stayed 2 nights , we took twin bedroom with private bathroom. The room was narrow, but clean. You can ask them to clean up your room everyday. Just tell them in the morning if you want them to clean up your room. The hotel was near the hakodate station and if you are a budget traveller, this hotel suit you. The owner also very nice. After all, we love stay hereNote : there is no elevator. So, this place maybe don't suit elderly person.

I was so delighted with this inn from the moment I stepped in the door. The owners are fantastically kind and helpful, it was a real pleasure to meet them and stay with them.The location is very close to the main station so all the sights of Hakodate are easily accessible, I had a great time around the city. It was so nice to come back to this cosy house at the end of the day.The decor is very cute and fun, it makes the place special and unique. Our room was also very comfortable, with all amenities we could want plus more provided. The futons are very comfy!Our room had the shared bathroom which is a luxurious traditional wet room style. Everything was very clean and felt very safe.At the end of the stay we got goodie bags full of fun Japanese snacks!I absolutely loved staying here and would love to return one day. Thank you very much! I wish the owners all the best.
