Room is spacious. Quiet area and nearby to the shopping street, park and bridge. A bit of walking distance to the station but in front of hotel is the bus stop. Breakfast and buffet dinner is good with lots of choices.

Stayed here for one night with my family of three. There were two beds, and they were spacious enough for our young daughter to share a bed with one of us. Room was clean and functional. It was fine for a night but would have been cramped for a longer stay.I was very disappointed with the onsen. Despite there being a large shower area for up to 20-30 guests, the onsen itself was tiny! Just one jacuzzi where maybe 5-6 people could sit close together, but who wants to get up close and personal with naked strangers? There were also two reclining baths, a cold bath, and a low temperature bath. The cold and low temperature baths were much more spacious than the hot tub, but no one wanted to get in them because they obviously come to the hot spring for a hot bath! Seems like such a waste to have two empty cold/cool baths, with people literally standing and waiting to enter the jacuzzi. But actually, the silver lining was the low temperature bath was about the temperature of a swimming pool, so my daughter was able to stay in it the whole time while I soaked in the jacuzzi and the reclining bath (but I couldn't stay in them too long at once since people were waiting, so I went back and forth when there was an opening). She usually cannot stand the hot water for long so she had a great time. I had to keep reminding her it's not a swimming pool. The next morning we had breakfast on the 15th floor. I was impressed by the variety in the buffet. The taste was fine, but nothing to write home about. There were a few rare and interesting items like a "potato steak." There were a lot of people there but it wasn't crowded because the seating area was very expansive.Overall, it was a fine place, but I can't see myself staying again when there are probably better options closer to the station. I would have liked an 11 a.m. checkout and morning onsen access. Also, we had a plan where breakfast, onsen, and parking was included. I would not pay extra for these if they aren't included in the price. Especially not the onsen, not worth 700 yen at all!

The room is spacious and comfortable. The shower is very good. The bed is big.Location is not too far from JR station within 15 minutes distance. Many local places to eat within 5-10 minutes or 12 minutes walking. We like it that after dinner we can take time to walk back to the hotel to digest before going to bed.Convenient stores are near by. Staff are helpful and polite.

What a horrible place. First of all, it’s old. Maybe from the 80s? The rooms are depressing and the bathrooms have not been renovated since. You can hear your neighbours sneeze (no joke). We found a used dirty q-tip on the air purifier. You have to pay to use the TV which is ridiculous.Internet is also from the last century - super slow. YOU CAN’T EVEN SEND AN EMAIL!?The use of the gym costs 1650 yen per workout. This price includes the use of the spa per default. Needless to say, the spa is ancient. So even if you just want to use the gym, you have to pay the full amount. Which is ridiculous. Gym and spa open at 11AM. Again, why? People want to work out in the mornings and not in the middle of the day. Especially if you have to pay this much. Please note: the gym is decent but definitely not worth that money. None of the staff can speak a word of English. This hotel is a disgrace. Don’t make the same mistake and avoid it! Don’t think “it can’t be that bad, these people are exaggerating” - that’s what we thought when reading reviews and now our experience of Asahikawa is ruined.Having said that, I must admit that the breakfast is good!

Are you sure this is Japan standard?I don’t believe what I see!All the photos on the website are like 10 to 20 years ago!Oh no!Room & hall way are full of cigarette smell. Try to change room but not be able to. Very bad room environment bad counter service, the hotel is SUPER old, need to park the car else where & walk back to hotel with over night charges, reception & front desk DOES NOT speak English! The lift need to wait for super long time to get in & only two unit available for the whole hotel, end up need to go in when the lift is going up then go down to the lobby. Orientation tour! LOLIs not worth the money!Think twice before you book!

If you can't walk 10 minutes with luggage from the station this isn't for you. The hotel offers much better space, large rooms by Japanese standards, and lower prices because of the slightly less convenient location. Breakfast is spectacular, I had nearly 40 different items for a fixed price of around 10 euro.

The staff as ART Hotel Asahikawa was most pleasant and helpful. They made sure our stay was a good experience. Upon arrival, we had our triple room ready and the concierge helped us to direct our car to a nearby open air carpark as the 2023 Toyota Prius could fit into the automated parking system. Car parking cost ¥1,000 per night which was the norm. However both the onsen and gym were payable facilities. While the onsen was acceptable at ¥700 per person with multiple entries, the gym was ¥1000++.The location of the hotel was a lttile far, 2.1km from Asahikawa JR station but close to Asahikawa Annual Ice Festival location. It is close to the local Yakitori/Ramen street and the famous lamb bbq.Overall, it is a satisfying stay.
