I stopped by Takachiho Gorge and the road to Beppu was long, so I booked this lodging to rest along the way. It is located less than a 5-minute walk from Taketa Station. Of course, people who plan to come here will probably rent a car, but...Because it is a small town, a lot of Japanese flavor remains. I am very satisfied with the accommodation as it has a suitable sensibility. Even though it was a guesthouse, I had a single room, and although the room was small, I liked it because the only purpose was to sleep and the price was very cheap. There are two toilets and two shower rooms on the first floor. The usage time is unlimited and can be used at any time. The building locks at 10 p.m. and opens at 7:30 a.m., but they give you the password for the side door so you can leave and lock it again when it's convenient for you.The owner and staff were all really friendly and always smiled and greeted me, making me feel good at every moment. There was a relay diary in the room, but the diary in the Hoshi room I stayed in didn't have any Korean letters, so I wrote it down briefly, and I hope that Koreans who come next time will also leave a nice trace.

This is the best Japanese-style old house hostel I have ever stayed in. The nearby town is beautiful and quiet, and the owner is kind and friendly. I highly recommend it to self-guided travelers or backpackers!

This is one of my favorite hostels I have ever stayed in. It was the first time I stayed in such an authentic Japanese-style ancient house, it felt like I was on TV! There is a bakery shop at the entrance of the first floor . You must try it to see how delicious it is! The bed is very good to sleep on. The water pressure in the bathroom is large and strong and very comfortable. Although it is an old house, the owner has kept it very neat and full of features and ingenuity. The owner is kind and friendly, making you feel very welcome. All in all, if you want to experience the Japanese old house style, don't miss this place! This is one of my favorite hostels I have ever stayed in. This was the best stay in our 2-week Japan trip! The old building is very characteristic and has a few nice communal rooms where you can relax. The breakfast was tasty and the beds are super comfy.

The staff are polite and kind. The facility is quaint and allows you to spend a relaxing time. The downside is that the capsule-type private rooms are hot. There are stations and hot springs nearby, as well as a quaint shopping street. There is no problem with eating and drinking, but the problem is that there is no convenience store nearby. It is an old private house that has been renovated, and it creaks every time you walk on it, so you have to be careful about other customers.Still, you can stay for less than 5,000 yen even including the hot spring ticket fee, so I give it a ★5.

Very cute and friendly hostel staff and environment. There's a common bathroom and living room with board games. And there is a cafe at the front.

1 minute walk from Bungo-Takeda Station. Marufuku, which has the most delicious fried chicken thigh set meal, is also a 30-minute walk away. Extremely convenient!

This is a guest house that has been renovated from an old folk house. The staff always welcome you kindly. It's near the station and you can walk to the hot springs. You can also listen to Kojo no Tsuki at 6am (^^♪
