We spent 3 nights here and it was the worst place we stayed in during our trip to Japan. Please see the pictures and decide for yourself. |This place is dirty and the building is not well maintained. …

this was an amazing first stay in japan. satoshi is a super friendly host. the ryokan is a little maze with cute spots everywhere. the location seems far from shibuya and all the shopping areas we wanted to go but is actually a really nice area with cute coffee spots and bakeries around it. also very close to a fluffy pancake restaurant for who’s interested.

The ryokan in Asakusa is very well located and close to the Sensoji temple. It is a somewhat old ryokan, but it has charm and the host is friendly speaks good English and we paid 5000 yen per person per night. There is a shared bathroom and the toilets are also shared. The rooms are typically very bright for a ryokan and you sleep on the floor. You should also not make a lot of noise out of respect, because you can hear everything when you are talking. We had nothing to complain about, but the accommodation is also more suitable for backpackers or a short stay.

A great little Ryokan nestled right in Asakusa area, 5 min walk to the temple, 5 min to the subway, easy to get to, lots of food options close by. Rooms are tatami and traditional Japanese (no chairs) only futons and pillows to sit on. Air conditioned and Wi-Fi in most rooms. Very clean, very friendly, no guests after 10pm but doors open 24 hrs. Shared toilets and showers. A very cool place for the adventurous and those seeking an authentic old school Japanese feel. My second time staying here and I’ll be back again.

Nostalgic rooms in the heart of the real Tokyo. The owner is friendly and helpful and the ryokan is an experience in itself. I felt at home in a strange and busy city. The place is clean and kept tidy. Toilets are indeed small, but who cares. Recommended, also for families.

excellent location, nice host, simple and clean. stairs are steep, and there is at least one room with no sunlight…window opens up to close wall next door. if you can avoid that room… otherwise, very good experience at a fair price.

We stayed at Taito Ryokan for 5 nights at the end of December. We were looking for a cheap accommodation as we knew we would spend most of our time doing sightseeings, overall we enjoyed our stay but a few things can be improved. …

Of all of the accommodation we stayed at while in Japan, Taito Ryokan was probably the most traditional of the lot in terms of typical Japanese living. …
