I took a bath in the Kotan Onsen open-air bath and went to eat lunch.I received a rare fish called Parimomo (Ezo dace)~(^^♪The ramen and Ezo deer Genghis Khan I ate on other days were delicious.

I remember when I was young (about 25 years old), after losing my job, I traveled around Hokkaido by bicycle and stayed at a guesthouse in Kawayu Onsen. I stopped by this store to go to Kotan's open-air bath empty-handed. The staff at the store invited me to see a live performance, and at night I got intoxicated by the Ainu music and dancing. I will never forget that magical night filled with a sense of unity with the guests. In the deep night, I returned to Kawayu's inn on my bicycle while being watched over by Ezo deer. The unique melody will never be forgotten. I still have the CD.30 years have passed since then. I was surprised and happy that this store still exists in Hokkaido and Japan, which has become deserted year by year. Looking at the self-introduction on the flyer, he looked the same as he did 30 years ago. Maybe it's the efficacy of Kotan's hot springs. It's a hot spring that never ages. For food, I ate milk ramen. It was mild and delicious. It also contains pumpkin as an ingredient, making it healthy. Inside the store, a group of Ainu-style customers and the owner, Mr. Atoui, were misbehaving. He was watching a huge digital TV (it was very impressive, the first time I had seen it) while sleeping. I couldn't help but nod, and the other customers were also nodding. This time, I stopped by because of the nearby Lake Kussharo OWS (open water swim, long-distance swimming competition). I didn't know the water quality so I ran a short distance as a trial run, but it was shallow and the race was faster if I ran (lol). I don't think people in Hokkaido are good at swimming because of the cold climate, but there are indoor pools all over the prefecture, and I heard that athletes who participated in the Paris Olympics (from Obihiro) practiced at Lake Kussharo. Even though I swam in the dirty Seine River, Lake Kussharo is just like any other lake. It may be cloudy, but according to the organizers, you can actually feel the delicious-looking fish swimming around (lol).*Images were taken after checking with the store staff.

I used it for a day trip. I didn't stay overnight, so please don't rely on the stars, but you can rent a private bath for a cheap day trip. The bath had a nice atmosphere and I was able to enjoy bathing with my family.Part of the bath is made of glass, and although there is a screen, it feels open. The staff were kind and comfortable.

The open-air bath is a waste.Isn't it because it's free?I wish I could have gone inside and watched the sunset (-.-)

Situated in a rather remote area without much amenities. Used it as a base to visit shiretoko, lake mashu and lake akan. Rooms had a rustic feel to it, but sleep was surprisingly good. There is a single onsen bathroom, so you have to take turns. You can email the owner directly for reservations as they are not on hotel booking websites.

My child had ramen and I had ohau. There's an English menu for people from overseas, so I guess most Japanese people don't come here. ? That was the customer service. And expensive.

The taste is good and the atmosphere inside the store is very good. But the price is too expensive, maybe because there are few restaurants nearby and it is a tourist area.

We went with two adults and one elementary school student, and we couldn't finish all the food, so we ordered for two people, but we were told that we had to order for three people. I had ordered 5,600 yen for two people, but I couldn't order any more coffee or food that I didn't want to drink, so I quickly gave up and left the store. Then, a woman followed me to my car and charged me 200 yen per person for the toilet. I was told to pay for the attendant, but since I wasn't using it, I didn't. Even though I didn't know the rules in Hokkaido, I did something rude. By the way, the price was high, the pork bowl was 1800 yen. It was a shame because I went looking for this restaurant because of the good reviews.
