Definitely recommended get-away directly on the Rhine. You can take the ferry to go hiking in the vineyards near Rüdesheim. And there's still enough to do. Be sure to make extensive use of the spa area and Nils Henkel's gourmet restaurant, an absolute must. Unfortunately, the Bingen center is a bit old, so a star is deducted from the location. Definitely coming back soon.

We were guests with two families for two nights. It wasn't easy for me to take a final picture.The thing that bothered me the most was the construction site on site, which was NOT pointed out in advance!Putting the small link: “Construction site information” in a long confirmation email and pointing out that I knew about it beforehand is ridiculous.I would never have booked a 2-day stay for 894 euros with a construction crane in front of my nose and a circular saw. The 10% that you receive directly at check-in doesn't help either. I wouldn't have booked it even for a 50% discount.On a positive note, our complaint was taken seriously and instead of one large room, we were given two single rooms on the other side. We were also given a discount and were particularly appreciative at dinner. Thank you for that. That was professional and should be mentioned positively.But if you compare everything overall with other hotels, especially in the Alpine region: Quellenhof, Stangelwirt, Forsthofgut, etc., what you get here is pretty poor. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right here. Basically everything is tastefully decorated and the aim is to appeal to a sophisticated and wealthy clientele. Unfortunately, this doesn't work in many places. To do this, you still have to do a lot of homework - especially in service. Waiting times are quite long, and plates and cups sometimes pile up at the breakfast table.All in all - given the price level - unfortunately we probably won't be coming back. It's a shame, there's potential.Please tell people BEFORE booking that they expect a proper construction site. This prevents a lot of frustration among the guests.Photos are from October 16, 2024.

We visited for the fourth time and really enjoyed our stay again. For us, the main attraction is still the surroundings and the beautiful wellness area. The rooms are so lovingly furnished and we always feel at home there. We were greeted with a small bottle of sparkling wine, which we were very happy about. This time we opted for a double room with a river view and were not disappointed. The small balcony was sufficient to watch the sunset in the evening with a glass of wine. The staff was super nice as always. We thank you for the lovely stay.

An incredibly wonderful weekend spent at the Papa Rheinhotel! From the reception, to the great suite, the breakfast and the location, it's simply fantastic. Pure relaxation in the wellness area, friendly staff without exception! Relaxation is very important here. We'll definitely be back!

All I can say is wooow! Thanks so much!!! For what?! For the very spontaneous (within 5 minutes) reservation, mega friendly service at the reception (you are great 11/10). Totally uncomplicated, very relaxed and very friendly! The room was very clean...sauna area, everything you need to relax 🤩 food..a dream on a very high level! We'll definitely be back!!!! What was supposed to be just a spontaneous short trip over the holiday turned into a really great stay. The hotel is equipped with great attention to detail and, despite the high standard and luxurious ambience, is anything but aloof or stuffy, which we really appreciate. The food in the Lido and the drinks at the bar were excellent. The music in the background creates a relaxed atmosphere and you feel comfortable right from the start. From the welcome drink in the lobby to checking out. The service was consistently friendly and competent. Only the spa area was overcrowded and a bit too small, but work is already underway on this expansion.What is surprising, however, is the fact that a lot of potential was wasted, as the hotel has a unique selling point thanks to its great location on the banks of the Rhine. Panoramic saunas and relaxation rooms with a view of the Rhine would have been an absolute highlight here...We would still like to come back because our River View bunk and the whole Papa Rhein atmosphere were still convincing!

A really great hotel! Beautifully decorated, very tasteful, great ambience. Very nice spa area. The indoor pool is a bit small, but the expansion is already under construction. The best pillows I've ever found in a hotel.But the best thing is the service - open, friendly and helpful: I had forgotten my headphones, when I called I had already handed them over as lost property and they were back with me two days later. Great service! I would give even more stars if I could ;-)

We were guided by the positive contributions here and were really looking forward to our time in the hotel. The decor is really nice and well-kept, but unfortunately a cool look isn't enough if the service is bad. Almost all of the employees, from reception to the restaurant to the spa, appeared to be in a bad mood and made us feel like we were intruding in some way.The construction site is big, but that didn't really bother us, we also received a 10% voucher for our current stay.Fortunately, the spa area is being expanded, but there is currently a lack of sufficient rest/lounging options, cooling down such as a waterfall shower and Kneipp hose.The hourly infusions announced on the website did not take place (see under SPA> Finnish sauna), and no information was given about this. The guests then took turns making their own infusions. The food in the lower restaurant was very tasty. Unfortunately, the waiting time between courses of an hour was clearly too long. The staff seemed overwhelmed and unfriendly, there was no explanation or apology.For the prices charged, it's really a shame, or rather an impertinence.All the guests around us felt the same way.On the website it says that you can still make full use of the spa area on the day of departure, I paid special attention to this when booking because we wanted to take advantage of it.Then we were informed in a subordinate clause at checkout (11 a.m.) that the spa area could only be used until 3 p.m. When I asked why, they said (grumpily) because of an exclusive booking. We would have liked to have at least found out about this when checking in, then we would have planned the day completely differently.Many other guests felt the same way as us, so this was probably not an isolated incident.Really a shame and we are so disappointed that we will not recommend this hotel to our friends.

A beautiful, really cool hotel with a relaxed atmosphere and very friendly staff! Great breakfast with everything you could want. Perfect for a weekend - beautiful spa area and best location directly on the Rhine. Walks, boat trips, etc. are possible in the immediate vicinity in the picturesque setting of the vineyards and the Rhine. Absolute recommendation!!
