The Ibis Hotel in Mainz impresses with its excellent location. Centrally located, it is the ideal starting point for exploring the city. Restaurants, sights and the main train station are within easy walking distance. The staff is also consistently friendly and helpful, which makes the stay pleasant.Unfortunately, there are some negative aspects that spoil the overall impression. Overall, the hotel seems a bit old. What is particularly disturbing is that the elevators have been under renovation for over six months and the work is still ongoing. This means that you often have to endure long waiting times or have to climb stairs - not ideal, especially with luggage.In addition, the WiFi in the room was broken on my last two visits. This is a big nuisance, especially when you are traveling on business and want to work. Despite reporting it to reception, there was no quick solution, which significantly reduces the comfort of the stay.Overall, the Ibis Hotel Mainz is recommended for its location and friendly staff, but the deficiencies mentioned should be urgently remedied in order to make your stay more pleasant.

The Hotel is nearby to the Roman Theater station. All important landmarks are at walking distance. However, the wash basin in the toilet has water-logging problem. Even the tap being open for a few seconds, might cause the water to stay in the basin for minutes. Otherwise, it was a comfortable stay.
