Absolutely delightful villa. Dark and quiet for a good sleep. In jungle gardens tended beautifully. Lovely staff and very clean. Amazing breakfast!! Totally recommend.

The staff was very kind and helpful! The rooms were cleaned every day, so it was very clean. This hotel is close to Ubud city center so perfect for walking! The pool was very clean and towels were provided.On the other hand, there is a small weak point for lunch. The eggs were cold but we can understand since eggs cool quickly and sometimes the rooms are far from the kitchen. But in general it was passable for an included lunch!I recommend this hotel if you plan to enjoy Ubud!

We have just come back from our first visit to Ubud and we are in love. Sama’s cottages are just Devine. So clean and fresh, the beds were amazingly comfortable & the bathrooms just lovely. The grounds are meticulously maintained and the pool area was the perfect size. We were here with 2 other families and we took up 6 of the 10 rooms available and everyone was so impressed and can’t wait to get back. The staff were so helpful and friendly with amazing attention to detail, location was perfect & the whole vibe here was so traditional and relaxing.If you like the smaller resorts that are true to tradition, clean, relaxed along with stunning grounds, this is the place to go… we can’t wait to get back there!Please don’t be fooled by other reviews from keyboard warriors as this place truly is beautiful xx

I stayed 5 days at Sama's Cottages. I loved this place with each bungalow in a small garden. Beautiful, peaceful and quiet. Staf is nice and there is a pool area with sunbeds.The only thing that needs improvment is the wifi and that is why I don't give 5 stars.However, I would not hesitate to come back in the future.

I had a wonderful stay at Sama's. The setting is very peaceful with beautiful gardens. The rooms were spotless, the breakfasts amazing, and the staff were very kind & quick to help with questions or requests. And they even remembered all of our names!

Stayed in Samas hotel for 7 days. I chose the room with no aircon. It had a ceiling fan and a net around the bed for mosquito protection. Ubud was super hot and when I put the fan on and mosquito net down, the fan air didn't get inside my net. It was 35 outside, 31 inside my room with the fan on and 60 degrees in bed with the net. I thought I would die from.cardiac arrest by morning. I had to endure this torture for 10 nights. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THE ROOM WITH JUST THE CEILING FAN. Pay that little bit more for aircon. To be honest this room (room 10) is a danger to one's health and shouldn't be advertised. Install an aircon please!Also I was given a WiFi password that never worked or kept getting cut out! Only on my 8th day I was given a totally different WiFi password that I should have been given at the start of my stay which never cut out!Very deceiving and disappointing.So if your WiFi cuts out, go to reception and ask for the different and correct password, different to the one on the sheet in your room!I found the manager to be a little rude and not putting me 1st in 2 situations that happened to me.On a positive note the pool was lovely and Koyo was lovely, polite, hard-working and respectful. He helped me alot!Bona was lovely too. He suggested I use the stand up portable fan which I stuck in between the mosquito net to keep me cool.Those 2 boys were the best!Breakfast was a 10/10. Delicious, fresh with many options all.delivered on your porch at the time you request.Overall my stay here was quite poor and disappointing. I don't think I will stay here next time I'm in Ubud.

Loved the bungalow - I stayed in the deluxe bungalow (Number 3 I think). It was so pretty, very light, airy and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and the best pillows I've had so far in Bali. It's funny, but pillows can make a huge difference to your sleep :) I have a bad back so I appreciated this even more!Breakfast was delicious and delivered to my deck each morning at a time I chose.I swam in the pool most days which also really helped my bad back :)All the staff were so friendly and professional. You can tell they take real pride in what they do and the staff are also treated really well, which makes a big difference. It's a family run business, started years ago by Sama himself (from Sama's Bungalows).I had the real privilege of being able to meet Sama himself, having been introduced by his lovely, eldest son Wayan. I met him and we exchanged a warm, genuine, heartfelt greeting. I told him how wonderful everyone was and how lovely his business was and he was so proud. As an elderly man, I was so touched by the relationship he and Wayan have. It really reminded me of the close relationship I had with my late Dad. He was also a very gentle, kind, compassionate soul and would help everyone and everything.Although Jalan Bisma has got very busy (I first came to Ubud 26 years ago in 1998 and keep returning) Sama's Bungalows are in a perfect spot, down a paved path, away from the noise. I could hear the river from my room and the valley was below.It was gorgeous in every way. The perfect start to my 2 months in Bali.

Sama's cottages was a great place to stay and enjoy the sights of Ubud. It was centrally located and our Deluxe Air Con Cottage was perfect. The grounds are beautiful as you walk down a path to get to your specific cottage. Breakfast was served in our outdoor patio, and we had a great massage on the roof near the pool.
