It's an original experience to be in a hotel room located in a temple. It's original and exotic in a rococo style.To do when you are in Ubud, on the other hand the rooms are a little basic but the general atmosphere of the place makes these little details stand out!!!

I stayed at Shiva house for a couple of weeks. It is a sanctuary in busy Ubud. The rooms are perfect and affordable and I felt safe there as a female, solo traveller. Good air con and comfy beds. I loved the little balcony with tea always available and the stunning temple grounds were just beautiful to take in everyday. The most important part of this place is the staff who work there and the beautiful family who live there. It's such an honor to live close to them while on my holiday. I had my own personal crisis during my stay there and they were full of heart and care and a grounding force for me. I am super grateful for their support. A part of my heart is left there at Shiva house. Will definitely return!

It's on a lively street in the city, close to restaurants and food streets. It's very convenient to travel. Although it's on the street, it's not noisy. The room will be cleaned every day and a new hot water bottle will be installed for customers in the morning. The bed was very clean and I slept very comfortably. I stayed there for nearly a month and even had new sheets and quilts. The room is a bit old, if it is repainted it will definitely be more modern and beautiful! Great stay!

Best value for money in Indonesia. 13€ per night with hot water, wifi, in the center of Ubud and yet super quiet, located in a temple, attentive staff, comfortable bed. In short, what more could you ask for?

Our first hotel in Ubud! A magical and very spiritual place, it is a perfectly preserved family temple where the family that manages it makes you feel at home. Everything is very clean and they are super friendly!🌺

Cheap accommodation & warm and friendly service. The staff were so warm and friendly. We felt very welcome as soon as we arrived. Everyday the staff refill a thermos of hot water to make tea and coffee. They cleaned our room daily and changed our linen weekly. The hotel is located right in the middle of town and so close to many cafes, restaurants - everything! This accommodation is fantastic value for your money. There is no fridge/bar fridge in the room, but there is a communal kitchen downstairs with a fridge available for guests to use. Even though you're in the middle of town, it wasn't too noisy. There was some renovations happening downstairs for the duration of our 3 week stay, but we weren't too disturbed by the noise. There is filtered water available downstairs for you to replenishyour water supply. The bed was reasonably comfortable not hard like some beds in southeast Asia. WiFi was good quality. The room and especially the bathroom could do with a refresh or renovation. The bathroom needs a really deep clean, especially the toilet which smelled of old urine.

The hosts are awesome. They were doing evening prayer at their temple and me and my friend had a chance to join them. Uncle told us about the idols and how they do prayer (being of same religion ‘Hinduism’ I knew certain things but bit different than how we do it in India).Rooms are okayish, needs some paint job. Location is awesome. Ambience outside is very nice.

The calm inside the busy city! Excellent location, once you open the doors of the property, the sound and busyness of the city stop and you can enjoy a nice quiet relaxing time! The whole place looks like a temple, AC in the room is great, huge bathroom, hostess is adorable, free water and parking, really recommend!
