At night - countless mosquitoes, hence this review. Only the shower was large and OK. You can tell that this hotel hasn't been renovated for a very long time. It also smelled in the room. Open the window and off we go with all the critters. Staff friendly. Internet runs fast. That was only a 1-2 day stay - but unfortunately not here again.

Disgusting! The room was dirty, especially the corners (where the dust was so thick that you couldn't see the carpet underneath). During our stay only towels were changed and trash cans were emptied. The towels were washed out and some of them were frayed at the edges. The site mentions that air conditioning is available. The air conditioning system in question is a fan that stands in the corner. There was mold in the shower. The toilet brush still had residue left on it from the previous visitor, just disgusting!!!Cleanliness is very important here. The socket was hanging out of the wall and a family with a small child gets a room like that! Never again!!!

The hotel is the very last one. When we wanted to leave 3 nights earlier due to health reasons, we were only offered a refund of €50 of the total amount for the three nights (€234).That's really a joke - the woman at the reception can hardly speak German, which doesn't make it much easier. In the room, sockets with cables were just hanging out of the wall and there was mold in the corner of the bathroom.The room wasn't vacuumed once during our stay.The towels were replaced with fresh ones, but they always looked washed out and were sometimes tattered.The drawers in the wardrobe couldn't be opened because the wardrobe was completely crooked and everything was broken.In the bathroom, the power cables next to the shower were simply connected openly in the room with Lister terminals and something like that is rented out to a family with a small child.......There was a thick layer of dust and dirt behind the nightstandsThe bathroom door was attached very unprofessionally so that you are afraid to open and close it at all, the door handle was hanging next to it at half past eight anyway.Just look at the pictures and avoid this hotel....We left 2 nights before and the money for it (€78 per night) was wasted and we didn't get a euro back...NEVER AGAIN IN THIS SHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you had to describe the hotel in one word, “disgusting” would probably be it.Untidy rooms, no fresh bed linen, washed out towels. The photos on the website do not correspond to reality.Breakfast is served with dirty fingers.In addition, the staff hardly speaks German.We won't be coming back and would advise everyone against this accommodation!

Unfortunately a very outdated hotel. Photos do not correspond to the website. Outdoor area not maintained. Cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. The hotel room smelled very musty. Windows were screwed shut. There was no small refrigerator for guests who didn't book meals. Finally, just this much: We won't be coming back.

Super friendly and helpful reception. Nice clean room and bathroom.Bicycles were allowed inside.It's a shame we can't give six stars because they deserve it.If we are ever in the area again, we would love to come back here.

Friendly welcome and service, nice rooms and a great breakfast to start the day!!! The location is great for exploring Varel and the surrounding area. Top price-performance ratio. We'd love to come back!

Unfortunately, a very outdated hotel whose "condition" no longer appears to be well maintained. The staff is very friendly, but doesn't make much of an effort to clean and offer breakfast. We had a room on the ground floor. The bathroom was far too dark, no ventilation, it smelled disgustingly like a toilet drain!!!!! The toilet pipe had an open spot and liquid was leaking out!!! Bed and room appeared clean, in the bathroom only the basin and shower. However, during the four days no cleaning was done, no towels were changed, no toilet paper was added, let alone cleaned. A pity!The breakfast seems overpriced at 12.50 euros per person, no fresh rolls, no bread, an overfilled plate with some sausage and cheese. Unfortunately the cheese already had gray spots. Despite the friendliness, we absolutely cannot recommend it!

I would receive a very friendly welcome. I was shown the room, which was very clean and newly renovated. The bathroom was beautifully tiled and had a walk-in shower. A large television and a kettle completed the cozy room. I was given a double room even though I had ordered a single room. This gave me more space (I am slightly disabled). The bed was super comfortable. If it had been summer, I would have had a small terrace with chairs and a table.In the morning I was served an excellent breakfast. Since I was there for 4 nights, the selection was a little different every morning (sometimes with salmon, or egg, etc.). Conclusion: if I were to stay overnight in Varel again, it would be here.
