We stayed at the Dorotheenhof for 3 days and were absolutely satisfied. Everything was sparkling clean. The food was delicious, the staff attentive and very friendly. The hotel and the furnishings are a bit old, but everything is tidy and everything you need is there. Absolute recommendation.

We were there with a group of 25 people. The access was already a challenge for our bus driver, as there were bottlenecks everywhere. The first complications arose at reception. …

Well, I want to be fair, but I also want to set a clear tone with my review. It's too good for one star and that wouldn't be justified. But this hotel has some flaws that simply need to be addressed. Everything around it doesn't fit. It's just the little things that don't fit... You can definitely spend a few nights here and not have to endure any particular suffering. But what I expect as a guest is simply not fully present here. For me personally the rooms are definitely okay, okay the mattresses are cheese but that's just the fate of most hotels that don't invest in decent mattresses these days. So be it. It's not expensive either. Good mattresses are rare in hotels. The room is ok for me.What doesn't suit me: This hotel is one of the few where you get a physical key with a big block on it. Sorry, but am I supposed to carry this thing around with me all day? It is also not possible to hand it over at the reception because it is closed from 9 p.m. This is simply not up to date. Combination lock, code, PIN, card, cell phone... It's now 2024 and I just expect a hotel to be able to move with the times. Key with a block on it is old school. One morning the coffee machine broke down and only water came out, no problem can happen - but firstly I expect the staff not to be totally annoyed and drive the guests crazy because they are stressed. And secondly: just get a modern coffee machine, or ideally two where you can make a coffee creamer. Sorry, but that's just part of it. Filling 10 pots with filter coffee in the morning is 1986 ;)If I don't know the hotel and I just don't know that the place closes at 9 p.m., where should I ring the bell? Will I be alerted to this somehow? There's nothing more stupid than arriving at 11pm and there's no tail left. Then run around and call somewhere…. I'm on the road 250 days a year... Please think from the perspective of a guest. The Federal Republic has given you a huge gift by building the new ICE factory 50 m opposite you. You have increased the value of your hotel fivefold. Please hire a student who will be there at night or at least until midnight and just let the guests in. That doesn't cost the world. 50€ per evening and the guests are welcomed….Update: yes, I acknowledge the answer to my recession - but we don't come together: feedback is a gift and you should think about it instead of arguing with counter-arguments. That's exactly what bothers me. The fish must like the bait and not the anglerI describe my personal experiences and my view of the offer. Nobody can argue with me how I feel about it. Why don't you work specifically on the weak points?

The hotel is run by young people who probably have no idea about it!The food was very good and better than I expected. The rooms under the roof are not suitable for sleeping when the temperatures are high, especially since the sun protection was broken. This resulted in the bed becoming completely heated. My complaint was useless, all I got was "what should I do about it?"

Quite ok for one night if you don't care too much about the amenities. Overall it was quite clean but there were mold and mildew stains as well as stains on bed linen and towels which wasn't so tasty 😞

We stayed at this hotel for one night due to a wedding nearby. To get there:The hotel is in good proximity to the main train station, both on foot and by bus.We arrived in the morning on a summer day with around 30°C and found the hotel quite easily using Google Maps.To check in:A few months previously we had asked by telephone to be allowed to check in earlier, which was also confirmed by telephone (for an additional charge). On the day of arrival we were greeted very briefly and were told that a colleague should have informed us that an earlier check-in would not be possible (which unfortunately did not happen). After some cynical comments from the staff, we were given an overheated conference room to change into and were also forced to freshen up in the public hotel toilet. We later found out from other guests that people were also making cynical comments about us.We were given an emergency key, our bags were stored and taken to our room.About the room:The room is clean, very comfortable, the sanitary facilities are also clean and hygienic. The furniture has a somewhat old charm, I personally like that. The only small point of criticism is that the rooms are very bright and noisy, so it's best to wear a sleeping mask and earplugs.Generally a very cozy hotel with its own charm at a good price. What doesn't work at all in my opinion: the behavior of the employees. I can completely understand the tensions in times of staff shortages (we all feel it at the moment, sometimes more, sometimes less), but behavior like this is simply outrageous. It wasn't our fault that we weren't told, and yet it was repeatedly stated that way (to us, and later to other guests in our absence). The behavior towards guests reflects the entire company...and unfortunately this was completely unprofessional.
