After 2023, my wife and I were guests at the Hotel an der Sonnen for the second time this year for a week.We had booked half board again and stayed with itrich breakfast buffet (including smoked trout)and the daily changing 3-course menu in the eveningvery satisfied. The premises in the house and the rooms were very clean. The owners and the staff, some of whom have been there for 10 yearsThe people working in the hotel were friendly and attentive. The hotel is in a quiet "dead end" and we were able toSleep undisturbed with the window open. The distance from the hotel to the forest and hiking trailsis approx. 100 mtr., it is approx. 400 mtr to the bus stop. With the guest card you can travel throughout the Black ForestBus and train free.We were satisfied, felt comfortable and will be forBook your autumn holiday 2025 again at the Hotel zur Sonne.

We had 2 nights with half board. The hotel is beautifully located, the beds were great and not read through. The rooms are clean as long as you don't look under the bed, here only vacuum until the end. I haven't had the light switches all at midget height and the bathroom with a tub for a long time. The most disappointing thing was the breakfast buffet. You can still turn a blind eye to sausage and cheese from Lidl, but I found it a disgrace that even the rolls were the 1:1 baked rolls from Lidl, especially since they weren't even warm. And the eggs were probably the ones left over from the day before that had been warmed up again. The menu in the evening was delicious but very simple and the portions were too small. Unfortunately no recommendation...

The hotel is a bit old, as are the rooms. But everything was neat, clean and functional. Everyone in the hotel was very friendly and the menu in the evening was very good value for money. The location in a cul-de-sac naturally brings peace and quiet, the flowers in the balcony boxes looked very nice. There was no special view, but we didn't expect that. The buffet for breakfast was a good start to the day, the selection wasn't excessive, but there was enough, but it had the advantage that not so much was thrown away. Maybe add some scrambled eggs then it would be perfect.Thank you very much for the pleasant night in the Black Forest.

Hello, we stayed at the hotel 3 weeks ago. The staff was super friendly. We were also very satisfied with the service. The room was clean but the bathroom was a complete disaster. We had an extremely sloping roof, so we couldn't even go into the bathtub properly (it wasn't possible to take a shower at all). The height above the toilet was also terrible; when we got up (from the toilet) we always hit our heads on the sloping roof. Except for the bathroom, we were very satisfied.
