Certainly fresh, good and regional food. Prices are still significantly too high. Then it's better to avoid table linen and waiter outfits like in a star restaurant. And the same goes for plastic flowers on the windowsill. That doesn't fit.

We (cycling group) had booked the hotel for a stay from Fri - Sun because in the spring when we booked it was indicated that it would be open until 11 p.m. on these days. Apart from the fact that this isn't particularly exciting for happy hotel guests, we agreed to it because of the other conditions. But we got the announcement at 9:30 p.m. for the “last order” at 10 p.m. Which sprightly hotel guest feels comfortable with this? We didn't - and, as we heard, several hotel guests didn't either. Especially since the hotel is located far outside the city, which also means the hotel's surroundings are charming. So our thirst had to be quenched socially at the tap in the room. Other companies solve this more elegantly, without having to spend a lot of time on staff, which - as we also know - is now causing problems for businesses. To be fair, we have to say that we felt comfortable in the restaurant (until 10 p.m.). You can recommend this with a clear conscience, as the visits from non-hotel guests and small groups have shown.

After more than 2 years we were back in the forest hut. A lot has changed. Not the interior. Furthermore, the same Westphalian, stylish and cozy interior has been around for “decades”. But the service has become significantly different. Today, thanks to the professional and very friendly Mr. Schnelzer, absolutely top service. Good tablecloths, cloth napkins and really good food, made the evening a positive experience. The schnitzel was of great quality. Excellent breading that stuck to the meat. The fried potatoes really deserved the “roast”. Well tapped Potts country beer. Very well seasoned salad with it. The gnocchi was also well made in a delicious tomato sauce. Added to this is the location in the forest. Certainly one of the most beautiful gastronomic places in Münsterland - also with the well-kept parks surrounding the inviting building. Conclusion: A real highlight for excursions - in terms of atmosphere and gastronomy. We cannot judge the hotel operation because we were “only” restaurant guests.Addendum: 2 visits and completely different experiences. Today 1.9. on Sunday: To our surprise there was a very limited menu today, only menus. Around 31€. When I asked if there was a smaller dish or a “half portion” for my 100-year-old mother, I was told “only the menu would be possible”. After discussion, we were told that the very elderly woman could also get the vegetable soup individually for €8.50. Conclusion: Not very customer friendly and the customers (us) we gained 2 days ago were lost again. Service today was also “reluctant”. By the way: The sand in between the chanterelles wasn't so pleasant.

Quaint hotel and restaurant with a lot of charm. A little away from Telgte in a very quiet location, with very good opportunities for walks. The menu is good, the service is good. Also very suitable for smaller family celebrations.

Great location in the countryside. We were in the garden restaurant with 4 people.3 enjoyed some of the main courses.Unfortunately none of us had salads. The prices seem excessively high for the performance. Our last pleasant visit was about 15-20 years ago.Unfortunately we don't recommend it this time.

We had reserved a table outside for a rare family reunion. Well, unfortunately not possible because everything outside was occupied, so inside. Stuffy little room, no window open, old table with several table legs. Impossible to sit comfortably. And yes, the service is almost unfriendly and not attentive. After a table outside became available, we asked again in one of the cellars whether we could now move outside as ordered. No, the table was reserved for a hotel guest who didn't show up after another 30 minutes.Meal for 4 people 125€ and it was fine. Rib eye for 38€ without eye and taste. Unfortunately, real Wieners Schnitzel, as researched in advance on the Internet, is no longer on the menu.Thank you we won't come back

We were there with the Roadster Club, 17 vehicles and around 30 people for 5 days. During this time the European Football Championship began. We enjoyed sitting together in the evening, but at 10 a.m. it was last order and it was over. We have never experienced this on our multi-day trips in Germany. As a rule, the hotel bars were open until midnight or later. Even watching the football broadcast together was not possible, although we offered to organize a TV. The staff tried hard, one of the waiters was characterized by a rude demeanor and a colleague by an intrusive cheerfulness. In short, we will not go to this hotel again.
