Everything was fine, except that the heating in the room didn't work, only in the bathroom

We stayed in a double room at the DJH for one night. There were two separate beds and a bathroom just for us. That was important to us. It was really clean, but we had a very unpleasant smell in the room. Maybe from the PVC floor? In addition, the heating didn't work and it was really cold at night. The room is very spartan, but perfectly fine for one night. We didn't want to go on vacation there...There is shower gel, but no hairdryer. Towel and shower towel are provided. The breakfast was great...there was more to offer than in some hotels/pensions. And some things are made in-house, which is a big plus.Unfortunately we were no longer able to park at the house and had to drive into the underground car park. But that was ok and not far away.Since we wanted to go to the Westfalenhalle, this was an ideal location. Not far from the subway and easy to reach everything. There are some shops and restaurants nearby that you can visit. The staff is very, very nice. Thank you for that. Especially the nice man at the reception this morning (Sunday October 20th) - very personable.Overall a good stay with small flaws.

I stayed at the property for one night on business as part of a conference. The location is centrally located. The rooms are clean, but spartanly uncomfortable and the mattress is nothing more than a foam block covered with a plastic cover - understandable in the sense of "cleanability", but more than uncomfortable to sleep on. At a price of almost 90 euros per night, you have to remove the bed yourself the next morning and bring the bed linen downstairs. Unfortunately, there is a very sour smell in the hallway (3rd floor) - perhaps the PVC floor, which appears to be new, is still evaporating here or there is a lack of ventilation or something similar, I couldn't identify it more precisely. Sometimes you can smell it in the room, which has the same floor, but I could bear it with the window tilted. You are not allowed to bring your own drink into the accommodation - quote "we also want to earn something from the drinks and if you tip your drink in the room and I have to clean it, then we have had the work and nothing else." (Here, business travelers are apparently equated with youth trips)"Exceptionally" I was allowed to use my drink after discussion and the gentleman was absolutely right: that was an absolute exception, because I certainly won't spend the night there again - that was really only the case as an exception.

So far everything was good and clean. They corrected a booking error directly over the phone. The only point of criticism for me was the very small elevator, which could not be used together as a group.
