1800 euros worth of deposit has been taken away from meI have been (or at least attempted to be) a long-stay guest in the Hotel from 1.07.2024, until, what I believed to be a year, however I have been kicked out due to a "ownership change" after one month and a half, thus forcing me to find a last-minute place to stay during the most demanding and crowded house-search period, with no replacement housing proposed by the landlord and no answer to any of my appeals. This, although extremely unfortunate and (one could even consider) vile, was not yet however my reason for the writing of this review.I was promised the deposit I paid would be returned within 2 weeks of me moving out. It is currently the 29.10.2024 (and I have moved out on the 21.08.2024, as forced to). Attempts have been made from my side, however, to regain the deposit. At each instance of communication with either the reception or the finance department (or at least what I assume is the finance department), the answer provided (after a thorough month-long session of back and forth communication) is that I am eligible for only approximately 600 euros worth of deposit, as "the city tax and the overnachting tax have been deducted from the deposit price I paid. Now, I wholeheartedly agree with the deduction due to the city tax, I have not read the fine print, I could've assumed that such a maneuver would be used, but clearly, it was my loss, I wholeheartedly agree to a loss of 200 euros due to not being registered on time. However, after deducing the city tax (which is 6.65 euros per day, for a whole month of not being registered there, until I started being registered, adding up to approx 200 euros), still, the amount of ~1600 euros would stand as an eligible deposit return. However, in this case, also an interesting "situation" emerges, as, after being given the printed out excerpts from the payments and deductions, the "overnachting" price is also visible as daily deduction. This is very interesting, as overnachting assumes I am being priced per-night, as in every normal hotel setting. The crucial thing here is that I have, as a long-term guest, trying to find a long-stay in the hotel, booked it through a site HousingAnywhere, where I paid the "rent" for the first month upfront. After providing the hotel with the literal invoice from HousingAnywhere, where its clearly stated that the upfront rent for the first month has been paid, I have stopped getting any answers from the Hotel staff or the management. After consulting the reception with this (also, my booking in the hotel exists along with the words "housing anywhere", thus confirming that the Hotel is aware of the site) the receptionist said that he cannot comment on any means or ways provided by HousingAnywhere as it is a third-party and I should confront them myself. This is also a proper moment to underline that this review does not aim at criticising the receptionists, who have been of biggest assistance in this case, for which I am very glad.As probably foreseen, after contacting HousingAnywhere I was provided with the answer that any cost and deposit settlements are between me and the landlord and, much as before, I have to contact the landlord, thus, as expected, prolonging the vicious circle, with the exception of the fact that the Hotel now has my deposit money and will not return the full amount (with the city tax deduced). To presuppose any answers, I have thoroughly contacted the hotel and used all the bank app screenshots and invoices from HousingAnywhere that I could, attempting to contact any mail address or reception address of the hotel that I could find. No developments in 2 months. I was assured that "the demand is processed", but no updates, no replies to my mails during the last 2 weeks, either. I went out of my way to attempt to regain a part of what was promised to be returned to me two weeks after moving out.Maciej Zarzycki, room 350

Terrible. They just ignore bookings with confirmations, don’t apologise, give you some nonsense explanation and then you’re left without a place to stay and have to find your own accommodation.

Great hotelLove the design of it.It's about 25 mins tram ride from Central station. One might wonder what's wrong with the place and what's fault one might find with it, but I thought I might focus on what's actually right with this place.Lovely customer service, no-one seems to struggle with assisting guest's needs, great efficient and fast lifts, great selection of food , the design of the hotel and interiors looks and feels great , very spacious rooms , Amsterdam in general feels great, people and place and this hotel does seem to be the same.Lovely city break, and this hotel made it even better.

Had a great stay from start to finish. Parking in the parking lot under the hotel with sufficient charging spots. Received quickly. The room was spacious with a real king-size bed, very nice and soft. …
