So far it's okay, but something could be done in the rooms. There were stains on the bed and several ceramic spots on a sink. The sauna area wasn't particularly inviting either. You could expect more for the money. However, the breakfast was great and the staff throughout the hotel were friendly and accommodating. Our request for other pillows was implemented immediately. But “special requests” at breakfast weren’t a problem either.

I am more than shocked by the service. I booked a trip at short notice, which I had to cancel just 3 days after booking because a family member was dying. When I asked whether an exception could be made regarding the payment of the booking, as this circumstance was in no way foreseeable, I was only referred to the general guidelines. I further asked if a voucher can be issued, as there is a special circumstance, I was further informed again that the cancellation policy requires 80% of the total price to be paid. Apparently the values in this company only lie in making a profit. The fact that in a situation like this, where a very close family member is dying, you just want to spend this time with the person seems completely irrelevant to the company, as no understanding was shown here. Rather, one can say that initially an automated email came as a response and the employee on the phone responded dryly with no understanding whatsoever.

The Michels Thalasso Hotel is a larger hotel that offers a few amenities. Our double room with balcony was appropriately large and functionally furnished. …

This is the second time we have visited the Thalasso. Funnily enough, it is the same room in the residence that we had 10-12 years ago after the renovation, which was brand new. That is exactly the reason for my not positive rating. Apparently nothing has been done to the room since then. The ceiling and walls could use a dab of paint, the wet room has shabby seals, some black joints and the fittings in the shower are past their prime, and the decor in the wardrobe is also peeling off. Personally, I don't think a queen-size bed or the feeling of space is appropriate for a comfort double room. But what actually annoyed us was that the room (as others have mentioned) was above the goods receiving area and there was sometimes high life there from 6 in the morning. So if you want to sleep a few hours longer, you can't avoid ear plugs. We were also traveling with a friend who apparently had a single room right next to the elevator and after the first night we asked kindly at reception if he could get another room. Unfortunately, he received a rather modest answer, along the lines of he was imagining the noise that was making him unable to sleep, that he should please get some ear plugs, and that the hotel was fully booked. Sorry, but that doesn't work at all. In ANY good hotel he would have been told "We're terribly sorry, unfortunately we're fully booked and don't have any rooms available. We can offer you a small discount or a voucher for next time." Apparently you don't need something like that on Norderney because the hut is always full. The second star is only because the breakfast is very good, the boss there works hard and the bartender also sweetened our evening.

We had booked the offer for 4 days on site, paying for 3 days in a cabin room. Everything was good as far as service, breakfast and the wellness offer / swimming pool. We were only a little disappointed by the somewhat loveless, older room. The mini bathroom is no longer open The balcony with portholes on the floor 🤔🤔 seemed a bit unkempt. The hallways on the 4th floor also had the character of a 1-2 star accommodation. Considering the quite high price for the night, they need to be improved. . Otherwise everyone was polite and nice. We liked it 👍

I'm only here for one night. But I booked everything very spontaneously. Only 18 hours have passed from booking to arrival. I received a very good room. The proximity to the center and the promenade is only a few minutes' walk. The nightcap at the house bar is also well stocked and very communicative with fellow guests.Good experience in a perfect location.Happy again at any time and highly recommended.

Rooms very large and clean, 2 bathrooms, 2 wardrobes, were probably once 2 single rooms. Breakfast: everything delicious and fresh, very extensive, with allergen information. Great swimming pool, about 12-15 m long (that was the main reason for booking). Modern and well-maintained fitness room, which is also used by external visitors. Location of the hotel: 1 minute walk to the spa square.I was actually hesitant to write this review; I'm afraid that it will then be more difficult to get a room the next time you visit the island. :-)
