I can only rate the restaurant because I was there to eat. It is a very nice, comfortably furnished restaurant. The fireplace was on and the location is really great. Located in the middle of the forest, a very friendly team awaits you and the food (I had roulade) was incredibly tasty.In any case, I highly recommend it!

A beautiful restaurant in the heart of the Thuringian Forest.Good home-style food that is very well prepared. The portions are generous and taste excellent.The service is friendly and attentive.Dogs are allowed.This time we had roulade with red cabbage and dumplings, steak with corrugated meat and the game platter.

A motorhome parking space in the middle of the forest for YOU, plus a bunker museum for HIM and a great dinner in the restaurant. What more could you want? Thank you, we enjoyed it very much.

We spent the afternoon there before we did the bunker tour. Very nice and attentive staff in the restaurant. When we returned from visiting the bunker, a lovingly set table by the fireplace awaited us. We ordered delicious dishes, unfortunately the roulades ran out after a weekend. It was a wonderful trip for us, definitely recommended.

The hotel is simple but cozy. The a la carte dinner was excellent. Likewise the breakfast buffet. The rooms were small, but great box spring beds, you could sleep very well in them.Staff in the evening seemed a bit annoyed when ordering. Still recommended for an overnight stay during a hike or for a short vacation, as the surroundings are very beautiful.

Recommended as a camping site for one night only. The site is in the middle of the forest on a gravel parking lot. The rooms in the attached part of the hotel are more reminiscent of a holiday camp in GDR times. Likewise the rooms, small and left in the past. But completely sufficient for overnight stays. The restaurant is very cozy and warm, the food was delicious and the service was very friendly.

Today we ate for the first time in the restaurant that I had reserved in advance. The restaurant impressed with its beautiful decor, excellent food and fair prices. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. A truly wonderful place to relax and walk.

A perfect short vacation in the Thuringian Forest – pure relaxation!We have just spent five wonderful days in this small family hotel in the heart of the Thuringian Forest and can recommend it without reservation. The hotel is idyllically located in the middle of the forest, which gave us the opportunity to enjoy absolute peace and pure nature.We were particularly impressed by the beautiful terrace, where we had excellent meals every evening. The seasonal menu was creative and eclectic, with an impressive selection of drinks. Particularly worth mentioning are the extraordinary ice cream variations, which were not only delicious but also a real highlight.The breakfast buffet may be small, but it offers a surprisingly large selection of cheese, sausage and ham - all of first-class quality and locally sourced. Our dog was also pampered and received treats for breakfast every morning and fresh water in the evening - a service that we really appreciated.The rooms were thoroughly cleaned daily, which made the stay even more pleasant. Thanks to the hotel's excellent location, we were able to go on numerous day hikes and explore the beauty of the surrounding nature.For us, this stay was pure relaxation. If you are looking for peace, nature and hospitality, you have come to the right place. We'd love to come back!

As Rennsteig hikers, we didn't stay at the hotel, but we stopped here for lunch and were extremely satisfied. Very nice service, delicious food (the best so far on the Rennsteig), reasonable prices - recommended to every hiker!
