Edited because a new service manager obviously responded competently to challenges during our stay.In my opinion, the restaurant didn't always provide the service in the evenings to justify the price - sometimes very convincing dishes alternate with dishes that weren't always optimally prepared. The starters were occasionally more "amuse guele" or "amuse bouche", but tasty, alternating with coordinated starter buffets. The salad bar is relatively extensive, but less varied, and the homemade dressings are accentuated. The finished salads tasted good. The large selection of cheeses is varied and well selected; it varies over time, orange mustard etc. rounds the whole thing off positively, as does the selection of bread. The service staff - from reception to restaurant - are all very friendly, committed, quick and hard-working.The room was nice, large, has a balcony with a great view and south orientation. Given the price we were hoping for a fridge or minibar...Sunbathing lawn, heated outdoor pool, several saunas, relaxation rooms and fitness room as well as wellness offers ensure relaxing all-round care. The Tannheim guest card options complement the options for a relaxing holiday. The location is beautifully situated, on the slope above the town.Large parking lot with one (1) charging option for electric cars (flat rate €25!!), but there are others within walking distance.------5 stars for the employees.Five stars for the house would be in a different price category and is possible as more details are worked on.We are happy to make further changes to this review.

The location of the hotel is a dream, in the middle of nature with many hiking opportunities.Unfortunately, the hotel itself is neither 4 stars nor a wellness hotel.I couldn't book a massage online and when I asked, she said the masseuse in charge wasn't in the house (on the weekend, in a wellness hotel?!).We were hardly able to use the wellness area in terms of time. Check-in was at 3:30 p.m., the wellness area was only open from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., and you had to have dinner by 7:30 p.m. at the latest. The outdoor pool opened at 7 a.m. the next day, but since it was only moderately heated, it wasn't very inviting in October. After checking out at 11 a.m. you were no longer allowed to use the wellness area.Apart from that, the wellness area was also worse than in any public thermal spa. The outdoor sauna area was visible from the parking lot, so privacy was rather difficult. The rest of the wellness area was in the basement, where some of the walls were broken due to presumably dampness. There was no infusion by the staff, there was only water in the bucket with no aroma at all. The steam sauna was also not very inviting and well maintained. It all seemed very careless. Overall it was clean and the food was good, although not 4 star, but we didn't get the relaxation we wanted there. But we had more time for hikes - they were very nice ;)

First the good: Ideal location, quiet but close to town, cable car, slopes. Beautiful outdoor pool with 29° warm, only slightly chlorinated water, usable from 7:00 a.m. …

The location of the hotel is very quiet, but unfortunately that doesn't help much because the rooms are very noisy. When the neighborhood showers, you have the feeling that a mountain stream is rushing and you can also hear people talking in the next room. Breakfast was great, dinner starter buffet was very good, the main course was cold and very greasy (also careless in its composition). Lovely outdoor swimming pool, relaxation area too. Saunas average. Staff had an answer to everything, unfortunately not always customer friendly. Price-performance wasn't right, at least 30 percent too expensive.

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Hohenfels from August 12th to August 19th and it was very, very nice. The staff from the maid to the boss were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and were in very good condition. The food was very good and plentiful from the breakfast buffet to dinner. We felt very comfortable. We will go back because of the friendly staff and the good food. Our expectations were exceeded, and rightly so at Genusshotel Hohenfels.

The “new” Hohenfels has seen much better days! The hotel was a gem and now it has become an impersonal investor hotel. The rooms and the cleanliness are in no way equivalent to a 4 star hotel, the kitchen was incomparably better, nothing but a soulless shell... What a shame

We were actually quite happy with the hotel. The parking lot is huge, the reception was very friendly including Prosecco, the pool is super nice, the breakfast was sufficient and varied and the staff was always friendly. But the room wasn't a highlight because it had very hard mattresses, a shower bathtub and no refrigerator. But the view from the balcony was great. In general, the hotel is a clear recommendation.

The hotel is very nice and quiet. The rooms are a pleasant size, but we had booked a room with a separate toilet, which unfortunately wasn't the case. …
