We used the “Alte Waldmühle” campsite. Very friendly welcome 👍 Large flat meadow, free choice of seating, electricity and water connections directly on site, flat rate electricity fee no additional costs per kwh👍, VuE available at no additional cost 👍, sanitary facilities very clean but unfortunately no longer up to date. No bread service but Aldi Mark nearby, bus stop right on the square about 10 minutes to the center of Wernigerode. Free travel with the tourist tax 👍 WiFi only in the reception area, no connection to the internet on the site 👎

The campsite is really great! A beautiful natural place, absolutely recommended. The operator is very, very friendly and helpful! Everything is clean and cozy! In addition, the price is absolutely right and all sights are easily accessible from there. We will definitely visit this campsite again when we are in the Harz.

A very nice man at the reception. Beautiful place, peace and quiet. Clean toilets. Everything you need at the campsite is there. The most important advantage, however, is that you can arrive without a reservation in the middle of the night, sleep, wash yourself, and in the morning complete the formalities and pay.In other campsites we were sent away after 6 p.m. Because they were already closed. Not nice! And it was our first time traveling this way. And not always all the information is on the websites. We recommend this campsite!!!!!!!!!! 5*+

Finally a review that is true...The campsite is anything but nice and not having a super nice operator is of any use....The fact is that people are just taking their money out of their pockets!!!!Zero is invested in the space!!!!I'll give you the tip: drive a few kilometers further because there are wonderful places for the same money!!!!I seriously wonder how 5 star reviews can come about here!!!!

The journey to the campsite was very bumpy. Not only the potholes were reminiscent of GDR times, but also the 'washhouse'. This really takes a lot of getting used to and should urgently be modernized. It would be nice if you could at least lock the toilets. The showers are reminiscent of collective showers from the 50s.The place itself (free choice of seats) was ok. Any control and overview seems to be missing and theoretically you could camp there without paying. Speaking of unpaid... the GDR charm doesn't match the costs... they are very western and you really expect more comfort and service for it.It would also be nice if the actual costs were stated on the operator's website. The fee for an adult is now 9 euros, instead of 5 euros as shown on the homepage. Camping there also means isolation from the rest of civilization. You have ZERO cell phone reception. Ok, but that's the only place you can go directly to reception.A 'natural campsite' with these sanitary facilities and no other amenities (at least bread service would be nice) costs a whopping €36.50 for a motorhome with 2 adults, including electricity €2.50 and tourist taxWe wish the really nice operator that he finds many helping hands to transform the beautifully located site into a modern camping facility.Good luck 🍀

Very relaxed campsite. Simply find a parking space yourself, tap into electricity and water and start relaxing. Sanitary facilities are completely in order, disposal options available.
