We only paid 55 quid and we only needed somewhere to stay but the only thing grand about here are the mothers and fathers sat around staring at the very entertaining chap trying to inject life back into them through music. The whole hotel seems tired including the staff. Our room had a bed and a window with a bathroom. That's the positives. The negatives are that there were marks all over the walls and the bathroom needed a good clean. We didn't complain because after the check in, we thought we may be shouted at. We can't comment on housekeeping because in the two nights we were there, the room was not serviced. We even emptied our own bins. As I say we paid 50 quid so didn't expect much and we were right. Good location though..

Location of this hotel is perfect. This is not a five star hotel so don’t expect a five star room. On the whole you get value for this at £136 for two nights over the bank holiday which did not include breakfast. …

Grand hotel is only in name :) without the term "grand" it would be much better. The hotel has its years and you can see and smell that the building is already old. The service is very nice and polite, very good breakfasts. Very good location...

We didn't stay and went to a lovely B&B. The woman on reception was friendly. Our room, on the left of building was up flights of stairs, no lift at that side. Room was dark and dingy, smelled musty and 'old'.  …
