Showing it's age a bit but - EXCELLENT breakfast and the beds are great - more comfortable than your own at home!Mobility wise - there is a lift, but it's a bit of a schlep from reception (ask to go in via the fire exit at the back). Also - breakfast waitress (Liverpudlian?) went out of her way to make us comfortable. Deserves a bonus if not a raise!😍😘😊

We had an issue while staying at the hotel. Unfortunately although we tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, we had no follow up from the Hotel management and did not feel the incident was taken seriously. There is minimal CCTV and this is a sprawling hotel with old fashioned key locks. The hotel was dated with an uncomfortable bed. The toilet flush did not really work and although the water was hot the shower was also poorly functioning. For guests traveling with pets they should be aware that there is a daily surcharge for dogs. If dog walking in the hotel grounds there is nowhere to leave the dog waste. On the plus side the rooms are clean and the staff are friendly.Would not return or recommend!

What a lovely place set among a beautiful golf course. Lovely large room with lots of seating, tables, large bed and amazing view. Room had fans, iron, trouser press, ironing board and hairdryer. Plenty of sockets. Reception staff really friendly and welcoming. Some little things let it down like a socket with tspe over, a missing top of sink tap but didn't spoil our stay. Didn't eat there so can't comment on food, but would definitely stay again. Really good value for money in my opinion.

Arrived with a disable Traveller. The disabled room is on first floor. After six hours the lift was still not working so I had to make alternative arrangements myself. The reception staff were not empowered to arrange alternative accommodation. The general manager afterwards apologised and promised to change how a situation like this is dealt with - I.e staff empowered to book an alternative hotel and arrange transport so that no guests in future are inconvenienced.I did stay here the following two nights and all was well. Some staff think it is acceptable to charge for latte or cappachono with the breakfast. It’s a bit hot and miss. It should certainly be free.

Staff are great - they employ local people old and young, and they know the customers. Fantastic pub with a good selection of beer and wine - food standard but all reasonably priced. Fantastic pub for a drink in a lovely hotel with lots of character and history.

Service good, young waitress working on breakfast very helpful and friendly as were all the staff.Shame the standard of the hotel let's them down.Had great difficulty opening our bedroom door as the lock didn't work very well at all, took me several attempts to unlock the door. The male receptionist also had some difficulty. Relations staying at the same hotel also had problems with the locks. The receptionist told me to fully insert the key which is what I did. He said he would get someone to look at the lock but it didn't happen. The rooms were a good size, decent wardrobes but bath was stained and ceiling had black marks which looked like condensation as there's no fan. The taps on the sink were set right back, when you turned the tap on the water flowed back into the sink tap, you couldn't fill your hands with water for example to wash your face or hands. Taps were tarnished as well on sink and bath. The electric sockets were old and badly positioned making it difficult to put a,plug in the socket because it was too low and the cable prevented you from putting the plug in.Mirrors in room were badly tarnished and walls in need of decoration. An old 3 pin round socket was next to the bed , god knows who uses round pin plugsOne packet of biscuits in the room which was never replenished. The chrome lights on the side of the bed looked new and had a USB but mine didn't charge my phone up or my wife's.The hotel looks lovely on the internet but is really in need of some redecoration and new plasterwork where there has been water leaks on the ceiling in reception area. Walls were scuffed and the ornate coving looked dirty.Staff very pleasant but let down by the state of the hotel. Our room on the first floor looked out a flat roof and there were bottles of shower gel lying on the roof.Breakfasts were alright but could have done with giving you a choice in the form of a menu. The grounds are very nice as it's a golf club as well. The owners need to spend some money on it.I note it's part of the village hotel group. We have a village hotel in north Tyneside which is far superior.Don't think I would go back as it just doesn't live up to its 3 star rating.

I have stayed here for approximately 10 weeks spent thousands of pounds here but am absolutely disgusted with how my violation of privacy and my mindset has been affected. I went up to my room only to find that my belongings weren't there. I went down to reception and explained my despair to which I got told housekeeping chucked my things in bags and left them in a locked room. They said I had to take it up with Expedia when I booked it through zen hotels... don't use their website BTW as it took an extra £310 due to the site been slow. 10 weeks and I get kicked out for their mistake... the least they could have done is give me a room for the embarrassment caused by them. They said they couldn't call because Expedia wouldn't give out my details.... They knew who I was and already have my phone number... Disgraceful behaviour and have left me homeless and totally embarrassed.... I hope everybody reads this and thinks again. Maybe next time Coulsdon Manor Hotel might treat their regular guests with a bit more compassion. To make matters worse I couldn't find anywhere to stay and the lightning and thunder and rain was tremendous... Thanks for throwing me out Coulsdon Manor Hotel and golf club... You should be ashamed of yourselves. People out there I'll let you decide... please leave comments
