Had a lovely Sunday roast here for a mini celebration. The food was delicious and the waiting staff were friendly and efficient. A bit more expensive than we normally go for but worth it for the quality

The pub had excellent food and there was a large variety in drinks available. We loved the breakfast they provided for guests who stay.We stayed here in the cottage for two nights as a group of 4, as part of the rooms you could book. We had a wonderful stay and staff were really friendly and helpful with any queries. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean. While we were worried about sleeping near a pub you couldn't hear anything downstairs, which was wonderful! At the same time there was enough parking and the rooms were really clean. We also loved the soaps provided by the accommodation. We woke up to glorious views and a lovely village feel, would recommend if you need to stay nearby or for some lovely walks.Unfortunately I only took one photo of the view in the morning but as you can see it was wonderful like the stay. Thanks so much!

We thought we'd try this pub as it was recommended in a review for a cottage we were staying at - what a little gem. The staff are so friendly, relaxed and very efficient. The duck balls and lamb shoulder were outstanding and very tasty. It's just a pity we don't live nearer or we'd be there every week!

We visited as a group of 6 and we all though the food was great, except the curry, which should have come with a bit more. There was no naan or Poppadoms or Mango chutney. It was quite overpriced. One problem was that the service was quite odd- the staff weren't very welcoming; at one point the waiter just walked off without saying anything after coming to get our order, because we were just double checking with everyone that we were ready to order. We then turned about and he was gone! There were some other strange interactions too. For example, my wife wanted to clarify that the bread and Olives were egg and dairy free due to an allergy and we just couldn't get a straight answer. At one point he said yes, we can do gluten free bread. The atmosphere wasn't great- was quite cold, bright and the music was too quiet to hear. The room was incredibly smokey and the carbon monoxide alarm went off twice. On the 2nd time of going off, the alarm was just taken from the room which was quite worrying.

I don’t normally post reviews, but we had the most amazing steaks and very friendly and attentive serve that is increasingly rare these days. Rare like my ribeye steak! Thank you for looking after us so well.

Stayed here in June lovely location, great room and beautiful evening meal. For me the only think that let it down was the boxed breakfast a great idea but unfortunatlythe products inside weren't to our taste it had a lot of sweet items in, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. Would stay again if travelling on a weekend when they do cater downstairs for breakfast.

Excellent service, food and drinks. Couldn't have been happier with the hospitality they provided for my dad's 60th birthday meal and his 16 guests. The pub had lots of other big tables to contend with at the same time and still the service was amazing. The pub is also in a beautiful location.Thank you to all staff that made a special day even more special.

Had a very nice meal for two in this beautiful old pub on a sunny Friday night. Really good food, very friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and dog biscuits aplenty! The cream egg chocolate pudding was absolutely delicious, we shared it! Highly recommend you visit!
