Beautiful, historic hotel featuring comfortable lodging in a beautiful location. We had recently visited the battlefield of Culloden so we were very familiar with the history of this area.  …

This was our home away from home! What a lovely, quaint hotel located just minutes away from Inverness. We stayed in the Garden Mansion and had the whole house to ourselves.  …

We only dined here but the overall experience was lovely. A grand old property, we were warmly welcomed with a drink in the lounge. The food was very nice and we finished our evening in the whiskey room. Well worth a visit if in the area.

This is the most charming and comfortable Inn with an incredible dining experience. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is super attentive. We were exhausted and slept through dinner and they were kind enough to make us delicious sandwiches late night. Excellent experience in a beautiful historic Inn.

Being a fan of the Outlander Television and book series, my wife immediately booked this hotel on our trip to Scotland. It is an impressive estate. The drive-in is things that are, frankly on television shows. Wide grounds striking views of the main house. And little secrets to be found around many corners. As an old manor house it has so much character and personality. And dedicated the front parlor to a bar/seating area which is perfect as you overlook the grounds. They have a wonderful restaurant that is open for breakfast as well as dinner, which we highly recommend. The rooms are large, comfortable with some modern amenities but still have an old manor house feel. The staff is friendly and accommodating and can help you plan your trips to the local area. Even if you just come by for a tea or a cup of coffee. It’s worth a visit.

I really wanted this to be great but in the end I just did not sleep well. The bed was very uncomfortable, and pillows were horrible square foam. The hotel is amazing, and I am sure it costs a lot to keep such a beautiful hotel but when 8 hours of the day is spent sleeping (the whole point of a hotel I think) I is missing some key elements. Outside of town so getting to other food is a bit of a task. The food was good but was missing something that just left be short of amazed. Second night we went to down and had a great meal.

This beautiful hotel/castle/manor was a highlight of our trip to Scotland. It was set back with a huge lawn entrance leading up to the main house.  …

After visiting the battlefield this morning, my husband and I had lunch at the hotel today. I’d seen photos of Culloden House but the reality was even more beautiful. The dining room is the very definition of understated elegance; a crystal chandelier, polished wood and crisp, white napery. The service was excellent, the staff were wonderful and the meal was the best we’ve had in our two-and-a-half weeks in Scotland. We had the three-course set menu and our soup, main courses and desserts were perfect. After lunch, we had a delightful wander around the hotel’s walled garden which, on this beautiful sunny day, was a lovely way to finish off our lunch before our drive back to Inverness. Thanks for a great experience.
