Great location, in walking distance of everything, reasonable price. Would stay here again. There is a bag holding facility at the nearby shopping centre £13.50 for two bags (again walking distance) hotel will store bags for £10 but this option was not offered to us, but was to our friends?

Great friendly welcome from Paulo and Claire who were very accommodating. Smooth check in and easy access for us travelling with mobility scooter and luggage and three adults. Family room is spacious, well presented and very clean but lacks storage.

Stayed overnight as going to show at the King's which is not too far away. We had the accessible twin room which was very clean. Beds were comfortable and short was very accessible with a sturdy shower seat. …

Great location. Room was okay; for how much we paid I would have expected a wee bit more. I’m sure the description said ‘coffee machine’ in the room but there was only a kettle. Shower pressure wasn’t great but bed was comfy. Could have done with some A/C as I was boiling during the night & couldn’t even open a window although I did notice a fan in the room the next morning. Was quiet all night but was awoken by large lorry reversing very loudly in the lane beside our room. Would stay again as the location was very handy for Calton Hill, Waverley station, city centre.

Two biggest cons were cleanliness and no where to store bags of arriving before checkin. Stains on linens and floors and overall pretty shabby and dirty. Exterior windows wouldn’t lock but we were on 3rd floor so didn’t feel too unsafe. Pros were the location and bed was comfortable as we like a firm mattress.

Spent three nights at this Travelodge and it was the perfect location to explore all points of the city. Always greeted warmly when we entered or left the hotel, and Paulo was particularly friendly. The room was spotless and quiet considering we were overlooking the main road. Would stay here again.

Convenient location for the centre of Edinburgh. Extremely friendly staff, Paulo has been very helpful and kind. Breakfast box was useful since there is no restaurant. Train station and St James only a minute away and right next to the bus tour operators, perfect for touring around Edinburgh. Variety of restaurants.

Stayed with family for 2 nights. booked a family room which was quite spacious. The room was however not clean, had splashes and stains on the wall and ceilings. The pillow covers were dirty and not changed & had dirt marks. The room had a very weird / stinking smell throughout the stay. Staff provided with air freshener/ closed the windows etc but no good. We were told the smell is due to restaurants down below. It made the whole stay very unpleasant. The location was good I must stay. However It was not as cheap to ignore the above issues! Paid 470£ for 2 nights. So I would expect some basic cleanliness I guess for the value. Due to cleanliness and smelly room I would not recommend.

Nice rooms with the necessary equipment.Check in was not efficient. It took her a long time to find our booking, how many rooms we booked and how many nights we were staying. The rooms were not made up. This fact nobody communicated to us and I could not find a message on the homepage. They told us, that this service is only offered when you stay more than 6 nights. I never had such a weirded rule in my whole hotel life.

Small rooms, but worth it for the location. Location right off the Royal Mile made everywhere we went easy to get to. Lots of good food in the area as well as a convenience store across the street that's open late.Breakfast was very standard. Coffee from the machine was great, though!
