What a shame! We love Campanile hotels and stay in them all over France. Sadly, this one doesn't come up to scratch. Maybe it's because their Glasgow offering is a bit of an outlier. The reception staff and check-in are fine. First impressions of the room however are disappointing. Several of the furnishings and fittings are shabby and need some maintenance or replacement. The biggie for us though was there was NO hot water in the shower or basin - surely functioning plumbing is a basic for any hotel? It was too late in the day to complain however and we were settled in the room. There are good points though. The bed and bedding was clean and comfortable. Surfaces were mainly nice and clean - top marks to the hard-pressed cleaning staff. We'll remain loyal to the Campanile brand, just wouldn't choose to stay at this one when there are probably better hotels nearby for a similar price.

Stayed here one night and it suited it's purpose. Reception were nice and pleasant. Room was a bit chilly. I turned heater on but didn't seem to work for long. Tea and coffee there and hairdryer to use. We had breakfast in the morning which was really nice. Was a 5 min walk from where we needed to be. Not best I've stayed in but not the worst either. Everyone who worked there were pleasant so I'd definitely stay again.

Having stayed here a couple of times now, we won't be back. The price for a basic room, which does come with breakfast, Is overpriced and given the state of the rooms, which are declining with wear and tare, fixtures and fittings falling apart, dust in parts of the room/bathroom. The location is excellent for the Hydro, but it's not worth what you pay for. Some staff members are polite and accommodating, some need extra training. Staff should be more informed about the restaurant amenities when customers are in checking in if they want to eat in there. Having one chef on when you have a sold-out hotel is not good and not being aware that it was bookings only till a certain time, which we were not told about when checking in.

Booked this hotel as was going to a concert at the hydro. It was convenient for the purpose. However, I wouldn’t stay again. Staff were lovely at check in and check out. The room and the feel of the hotel wasn’t great. The room was quite rundown and basic. One corner of the bed was held up by planks of wood. After coming in from the concert the room was very cold and the heater in the room didn’t work and nor did the air conditioning, as it was late at night I didn’t want to bother the staff about it. The room itself was okay however needs a little TLC as bits of furniture were worn, there were marks on the walls and the room just felt dated. I paid £100 for one night and I feel that it was not worth it at all - I wish I had paid the extra to stay and one of the surrounding hotels as have been to them before and they are so much better. It’s a shame as this hotel has lots of potential because of its location.

On check in told restaurant closed and there were only vending machines. Booked breakfast, told 7-11am but in fact closed at 10am. Window in room wouldn't open and no hot water on night/morning we were there. However a great location for SECC & Hydro but I wouldn't book again.

Room was filthy! Hair on the bed and in the pillows as there are no mattress or pillow protectors. The carpet was stained and dusty, the curtains and desk were sticky. …

I stayed here on sat 21st sept for the monster jam show on the Sunday with my 4 year old boy and my sister the 2 rooms were absolutely disgusting, there was holes in the walls filled toilet roll floors were dirty the plugs never worked, and too top of the night there was a massive group of teens running rampant around the hotel absolutely steaming, with umpteen calls to reception nothing was done to get them to behave, it was ridiculous needless to say I have cancelled all further bookings! I would stay clear of this place

Rooms very clean, spacious and comfortable but wardrobe space is very small. I was on my own in a double room and could not fit everything in.Also , I had not booked breakfast, I never usually do, but had it on the first morning. I asked to charge it to my room to be settled on departure, normal procedure in hotels, but not possible here. It had to be paid there and then. Why??I had to go up to my room to get my bank card, details of which they already had, then come back down to pay. Ridiculous !!!Car parking has always been free here but not now even though when I booked on line it said parking was free and the information in the room also said free, it certainly is not. Two days parking cost me nearly £25. Rip off.If you arrive earlier than the check in time and get your room key you could be charged another £20 for that privilege. Again ridiculous.I have always stayed here every year when through for the World Pipe Band Championships but these extra costs and not being allowed to charge things to my room will make me think twice before booking again.

This hotel was clean, convenient and basic. During our stay there seemed to be a staff shortage but were very attentive when they were around. Perfect location in the city centre, only issue was taxi drivers had trouble finding how to get into the carpark. The breakfast buffet was a small selection but as good as you expect, the complementary hot drinks machine was a big hit with our group. The room was clean and stocked as expected.

Greeted by a rude receptionist who made a fuss that i arrived before 3pm, despite the website and signs all over the hotel saying check in is at 2pm. Rooms are very basic and quite frankly not fit for purpose. …
