I'll start by saying that the location of this hotel was great. We stayed here for Edinburgh Fringe, mainly shows at Bristo Square, and it was in perfect walking distance at probably 10 minutes. …

This is a central hotel. We managed to walk easily to the old town and castle. The hotel is in great condition. The room was spacious and quiet for city centre location in a main road. Air con worked. Bed was comfy and room clean. …

Stayed at many Premier Inns. |This is in a great location and the room is what I expected. That's the good bits. The breakfast and customer service lets the brand down badly.  …

My husband and I arrived on Sunday, and the room was nice and clean. We had already prepaid for breakfast. So we had a cooked breakfast on Monday. Through no fault of anyone, there was no breakfast on Tuesday, nor could we book a table for dinner. The staff suggested we go to another Premier Inn if we wanted breakfast. We didn't want to do that. So for our evening meal, we had a pizza. We had our room cleaned on Monday morning and asked for a room clean on Tuesday. This never happened. All in all, it was okay

As you'd expect from a Premier Inn, room was good and bed comfy. The attached restaurant and bar was very poor though. Had to wait 10 minutes to be served a pint as no one was there. Was booked in for breakfast. Poorly stocked and barely edible. So bad in fact that on our final morning, we cut our losses and ate elsewhere.

Sorry but would not entertain staying here again. On initially booking in we were told our room wasn't ready. It looked, to us, as though they couldnt even find our booking. …

Premier Inn is usually my first option when staying in a city as it’s reliable but we DO NOT recommend this venue. …

Disappointed. Stayed here for a weekend getaway, upon arrival we were told our room was ready. We’d gotten there within an hour of our 3pm check in time so enquired whether we could get in a little early. The receptionist awkwardly said he’d have to charge us and when I questioned him on it - as most hotels I’ve stayed in have been accommodating of this without charging a fee - he awkwardly repeated it was company policy, setting a quite unfriendly and unaccommodating tone. We’d requested a twin room, but we’re given a double bed. There was an uninviting sofa bed in the corner that wasn’t made up, not what expected. The room was pretty miserable, very dark with tiny windows and little natural light. The bathroom light or ventilator made a horrible hissing noise. One singular foamy pillow.. there was no phone so we couldn’t call down to reception. When we rang via our mobiles in the morning no one picked up..Upon checking out there was no one on the front desk, we waited for ages, rang the start bell, nothing.. makes sense now why we couldn’t get through.Dissatisfied, even for a premier inn.. if passing by and needing a quick and cheap solution, might do the trick.

PLEASE DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL I have stayed in many Premier Inns and always found them excellent until I stayed in this one however! My experience here has completely put me off staying in this hotel chain in future. I have never stayed in such a dreadful hotel. Our experience began when we arrived at 3pm expecting to be able to check in only to be told the rooms weren’t ready due to their systems being down?! They weren’t even able to reassure us WHEN we could check in. We were told our cases could be stored and we could use the downstairs washroom to freshen up if we needed to go out. I then overheard one of the reception staff telling the other he needed to go and help clean rooms to which he responded ‘I’m not a housekeeper’ so clearly they were understaffed and also unwilling to help as and when necessary. The customer service we received was non existent and staff seemed completely clueless and didn’t seem to really care. Room when we eventually got in it was bog standard but very stuffy and we were unable to have windows open due to the noisy extractor outside. We had to stay in this hotel 3 nights and not once was our room cleaned. Breakfast was dreadful the number of tables for hotel size seemed woefully inadequate, there was never enough hot food, when it was brought out it was undercooked, broken coffee machine, lack of staff to clear tables and reset after. General tired appearance to the whole hotel. If I had been paying budget prices for this stay I would have been more understanding however for £200 per night it was absolutely disgraceful. Never again!!

Lovely hotel in a central location with easy access to many different tourism hotspots but also the quieter parts of town.Service was stellar from start to finish as well and have a very easy luggage storage system to accommodate early check outs and late check ins.
