This is not a one off review in that I live locally and the St Magnus bay is our main go-to local hotel. Over the last 40 years we have been very many times.|Firstly the marvellous traditional Sunday carvery. …

Arrived in 50mph headwinds by cycle. The hosts Andrea and Paul and staff are most welcoming ,and you feel at home the minute you step over the door. The location is both beautiful and tranquil with awesome views all around. …

I visited to take advantage of the Sunday carvery...which I'd heard was excellent, and indeed it was. My plate was heated high with lamb, beef and veg with Yorkshire pudding too. The turkey had run out, but there was gammon too. Service was steady and efficient. The hotel is a little tired but looks like it was magnificent in it's day.

One of the most beautiful places in Shetland.. peace, sheeps, green grass, ocean, beach, rocks.. there's everything around this hotel! If you travel by bus mind you that the bus stops exactly in front of the hotel. …

Suited us perfectly. Food was delicious and plentiful. Room was spartan but had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable. The area is lovely and quiet and the view outstanding. Lots of hikes with one starting adjacent to the hotel.

We love the location and the team… including Liam and Andy! The hotel is renovating and so we give some grace for the little things. There are shops, crafts, walks and a cemetery to explore. There is a marine sanctuary for seals and otters - be sure to meet Munro and Frankie if you get there before they are returned to the sea. And thank Lynn and her family for the work they do! ENJOY!

Lovely family hotel in a great location. We were in the recently renovated annex with a view of the bay and it was fabulous. Super clean and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were great. The nicest place we stayed in our week in Shetland. Staff were friendly and welcoming too.
